As soon as we got into the zoo, we decided to take the tour bus around the zoo since it covers about 70% of the exhibits on the tour. It was the perfect idea! This is Nick and the kids standing in line for the bus. 
Once we got on the bus, we saw elephants, tigers, lions, monkeys, and polar bears! We saw a ton of different animals but I can't remember what they were all called. While we were there, we smashed a penny (which is something we ended up doing at all of the different places we visited).
One of the things we couldn't decide on before our trip was what stroller to take with us. We love our double stroller, but it is bigger to pack, harder to navigate through crowds since it is wider, and it doesn't have as much storage under the seats, but it is much easier to push and of course it seats our two kids comfortably! Our other stroller on the other hand is easier to navigate through crowds, but takes more effort to push, and technically only seats one, but we learned last summer that it can easily seat two as well, but is still a bit of work to push. But we decided to take the single stroller and just make Carson always sit on top. It worked great and he never once complained about being uncomfortable. It also worked great for when Kaylee wanted to take a nap, since it reclines so much easier than the double stroller.
We bought City Passes for our tickets to all of the attractions we went to. It worked out great, because at the zoo the City Pass includes the Tour Bus and the Sky Ride as well, which are normally $4 per person, each way. It was fun to take the Sky Ride across the zoo....since it is a really big zoo!! And there are a lot of hills to walk up and down to see everything! The kids also liked riding in the sky ride....can you tell??
After the tour bus ride, we headed back toward the polar bears since they looks super cute! I guess a polar bear can grow over 10 feet tall when standing! That is one tall bear!
The kids had fun playing around (or running around actually) and climbing on the rocks around the displays.
Here I am putting sunscreen on Kaylee...which we did several times a day to both kids to make sure they didn't get sunburned while playing in the sun!

Back on the bucket ride to go back across the zoo....
We had a great time at the zoo. We left San Diego and headed up the coast towards Anaheim. On the way Carson needed to go potty, so we found the next exit and it happened to be a public California Beach. So while we were there, we decided to stop and enjoy the view for a bit. 
It was a bit overcast and windy, but that didn't stop all the surfers from trying to catch a wave. All those little block dots are surfers waiting for a good wave, which doesn't look like any are coming in this picture, but after waiting a few more minutes, they started coming. It was so fun to watch!!
After a little bit more driving, we got to our hotel in Garden Grove, Homewood Suites by Hilton. We checked in and then found dinner at Oggi's Pizza Place just outside of our Hotel. It was yummy!! We had BBQ Chicken Pizza and Breadsticks. We got to bed early since we knew the next day was going to be full of fun at Disneyland!!!!
