Fun Things

Carson and Nick went to church today, and before they left I had to take a picture of Carson. I love Sundays, since I get to dress Carson up in his Sunday best, and he always is so cute! He LOVES going to nursery every week, and has some great friends there he likes to play with there. Yesterday we finally broke down and bought a swing, to help give me some more hands free time during the day. We found this really neat swing at target. It is not like most swings since it doesn't swing from overhead. It is designed to swing more like if she was being held by someone. It plugs into the wall, besides being able to be run by batteries, and it even has an ipod plug in so she can listen to music!! So far she seems to really like it!

I think Carson felt a little left out since he didn't have a swing to sit in like Kaylee, so this morning, while she was in her swing, he made his own swing like area on the ottoman. It was pretty funny!

So yesterday while we were watching the "Little People" DVD, which we watched about 5 times, Carson fell asleep on the ottoman, and I just had to take a picture since he fell asleep in the funniest position!! Isn't it amazing that kids can sleep in the weirdest positions!!

Sugar Cookies!!

Yummy! Today we had some of our friends come over and make sugar cookies with us! We made them in all sorts of shapes and topped them off with pink frosting and all sorts of sprinkles!! They tasted even better than they looked! Carson just loves helping whenever we make anything in the kitchen, so he had a blast today!

Say Cheese!!

With the help of my good friend Jana, we played photographers for a day and had way to much fun with our new cameras! It was a little bit of a challenge since a 2 week old baby can't take directions on how to sit...but we figured it out eventually! It was a lot of work, but I was quite pleased with how they turned out. No more kiddie kandids...however I will still employ my wonderful sister in law, who IS a professional, since she does an amazing job, and these don't even compare to what she can do with a camera!!

BuBbLeS!

So this is Kaylees first bath!! (Not including the sponge baths that she has had). Her belly button thing finally came off, and so we could finally let her take the plunge! She did really well, and didn't cry until I took her out! Notice the bow in her hair...using advice from my good friend, we use elmer's glue to put her bows on her head, since they stay really well compared to ky jelly. And when I say stay on, they stay on!! She had this bow on from yesterday! But with warm water they come right off, so don't worry, she isn't loosing any hair from me yanking out a bow! I love giving babies a bath, cause they smell so good afterwards!!

Ribbons and bows...

So there have been several differences that I have noticed between having a boy & girl! First I think changing a boys diaper is a little easier, don't ask me why, but I think it is. And it is a lot more fun to dress up a little girl! I put this headband on Kaylee today and I couldn't help but take a ton a pictures of her wearing it! Boys and girls are both so fun for a lot of different reasons, and they are so different that it is hard to compare! No matter what, it is so wonderful to have so much love for another person, boy or girl! I am just so lucky to have both, and to have these sweet little spirits in my life!!

I Love Naptime!!

I can't believe it happened!! Both Carson & Kaylee took a nap at the same time yesterday!! Normally one is up while the other is sleeping! So after I captured this rare moment with my camera, I decided to join them! I was tempted to try and get some other stuff done, but figured I might as well take advantage of this situation! It only last for about 25 minutes, but it was enough to re-energize me for the rest of the day!! Kaylee was actually asleep in the pack & play, and Carson fell asleep on the floor. So I moved Carson to the bed, even thought the sheets were currently in the washer, and laid Kaylee next to him so I could prove that I got them both asleep at once!! Isn't it funny how moms rejoice over the silliest things!!

Two of my favorite things...

How lucky are we to have two beautiful children!! We have just fallen head over heals over our little girl Kaylee, and Carson just adores her!! He has been such a good big brother to her so far! It has been quite an adjustment to have two children now, but we love it! Here are a few pictures of the fun we have had the past few days since we have been home!!

We love to put bows on her head, since hardly any of her headbands fit her yet!!

We love hats! They keep her warm, and we have learned how to fancy them up with little flowers on clips!! It is so fun!!
Carson is getting better everyday at holding Kaylee...and is actually quite gentle with her!!

Here is our little 'Flower'!! We have another one that is bigger than her head, but it still to big to fit on her head!!

Life continues...

Well, we have been home now for a few days, and we have survived so far! We came home from the hospital Saturday afternoon, and we enjoyed a very quiet superbowl party! Matt & Nat were great to bring us dinner and watch the game with us! Carson is still getting used to having a baby around, and is so great at getting diapers and throwing them away for us! Our nights have been great and then not great, so we are hoping to get into a better routine as the nights progress and figure out the best way for all of us to get some good sleep!
Nick took Carson to scouts tonight, and they went bowling! Nick said all the scouts gave up several of their turns to have Carson bowl for them! I guess they got a kick out of seeing how slow the ball could go down the lane!
