After the triathlon Saturday morning, we headed back up to the cabin for the Bennett Reunion. When we got there, we found the kids playing in the hammock. It was so cute!
We like having our trailer! When we bought it there were two major things we wanted to use it for. The Bennett Reunion and the Deer Hunt. It was great to have our own little place for food, sleeping, and a potty! We spent the afternoon playing, flying kites, and enjoying the reunion over at Dean's cabin. The weather was great, other than the wind. At one point during the lunch, it was SO windy, everyone was losing their plates and drinks! But still, it was better than the rain and cold that we had last year!
The kid had killed a snake after lunch, it was huge! It was crazy, but I guess the kids loved seeing the snake! That night, we had another tradition of roasting hot dogs and making smores. It was great!
It was such a fun day, but Preston made it for a rough night. He must have not felt very good, because he was up until 2 just crying. Nick took him out to the truck and tried to get him to sleep out there so at least he wouldn't wake the rest of us up. But at 2 he came back in the trailer and I was able to get him to sleep on my chest and then eventually laid down next to me. He slept until 6 and the woke up crying again. He had been so happy all weekend and he is normally not a fussy baby. We had never had a night like this with him, so it threw us for a loop! So we got up all early on Sunday, and attended the Holden Ward. Preston stayed at Gma Karens and slept most of the morning, which was good since that morning he got a fever. I went to RS and then sat in with Carson's class in Primary. I wanted to see how they did their singing time and see if it gave me any ideas or help with singing time in our ward. Aunt Tamra sang in Sacrament meeting and I accompanied her on the piano. She sang "I heard him come" and did great! After church we had dinner and the kids played in the bounce house that Tamra had brought with her from California. They had a blast! Then we took some quick pictures with Gma & Gpa and the kids before we headed home that afternoon. By then Preston's fever had broke and he was being a little less fussy and we survived the two hour drive home.
It was such a great weekend and it was fun having the trailer and having great weather to make it even that more fun. The kids were a little sad to have to leave Sunday, but I knew we were going to have just as much fun on Monday, for Memorial day. See future post!
