More Swimming and Hot Days at Lagoon!

We finished swim Lessons this week!  On Wednesday, Nick was able to come and watch them swim because his leg hurt too bad to go to work.  It was nice having him there.  Later that day, while Nick stayed home with Preston, the rest of us along with Grandma went to Lagoon.  It was SO hot.  Fun, but so so HOT!  We kept cool as best as we could by going on a lot of water rides.  Our favorite was Rattlesnake Rapids, so we did it twice!  We stopped on the way home for dinner at Arby's in PV.  We also stopped by the house to check it out.  They were finishing the texture on the walls and the outside cement board was all done.  It looked good!

They also got all of the roof finished and here is the view from the lot above our house.
Thursday they had their last day of swim lessons.  Carson finally passed level 3 (after 4 times taking it).  Kaylee was so close to passing level 3.  She only has 2 skills to pass next time.  Treading water for 1 minute and doing her front crawl for 25 yards.  Alivia passed as well and Preston also did great with his class.  He can go jump off the side of the pool into the water and come up all by himself.  Not scared at all and he is such a little fish!  After swim lessons, we went home for lunch, did some chores and then went back to the Natatorium to do some more swimming.  Kaylee went off the HIGH dive for the first time.  We did lots of swimming so I told them we had to take a day off of water on Friday.  As we were getting ready to go swimming again, Preston had climbed up on Grandma's entry table and knocked it all over.  It was a mess, but I was glad to see that he wasn't underneath the mess.  Just gave him a good scare.  Nothing important broke, so that was good.  Hopefully that will teach him not to climb up on it again!
Today was a laid back day.  No swimming lessons or anything to rush too this morning.  We slept in, did piano, chores, and then I got ready to meet Nick after work for our date night.  My parents offered to watch the kids so we could go out.  We had the most romantic date first looking at shutters and then buying a fridge at Home Depot.  We ended up buying a Samsung French door fridge.  It was a great sale and we even had an extra 10% off coupon.  I still can't believe how expensive fridges are now, but I feel like we got a great deal.  We have been shopping around for months and knew the best time to buy a fridge was during the 4th of July sales.  The highlight was dinner though.  We ate at Freddy's Steakburgers and it was pretty good.  We then drove through Mantua on our way home to check out camp sights and atv trails.  I think we may visit there soon with the kids.  It was beautiful!  Even though it wasn't the most exciting date, it was so nice to have a quiet shopping trip and dinner!  I needed a break and just needed to leave Tremonton and have some time with out the kids.  It was nice!

A day at the Movies

On Tuesday, we took the kids to the movie "Inside Out".  It was a cute cartoon!  Natalie and her girls were able to go to the movie too and the kids had fun after the show making a choo choo train.  It was a nice way to spend a HOT summer day.  And man is that theater popcorn yummy!

We had planned on going to California this weekend, but after a lot of thought and discussion, we decided to stay home.  Nick had a chance to buy 2 four wheelers for the amount of money we would have spent going to California, so we bought them and he picked them up on Tuesday.  The kids were so excited!!!

We decided to call them Minion 1 and Minion 2.  Fun, huh!?  After we unloaded the trailer, I helped Nick push it back to the side of the house.   Right before we got it in place he dropped the trailer on his knee and dropped to the ground.  It wasn't good and he bruised his knee pretty bad.  He spent the rest of the night with an ice pack on his leg.  Poor guy!

Monday Errands

On Monday, Carson had an ortho appointment in North Ogden, so I took both him and Kaylee with me.  His retainer needed adjusting, but other than that he is doing good with it.  We stopped by the house before going to Lowes to pick up a vanity and faucet for my mom.  It was fun to see that they had started the cement board on the front of the house.

After Lowes, we made a stop by Costco for a few things and treated the kids to a churro.  It was a fun afternoon with just the older kids.  Grandma was great to watch the little ones for us.
That night, Kaylee and Carson were in charge of FHE and they taught about the blessings of baptism.  They both dressed up in Sunday Best and taught the lesson.  It was so cute!  Then we played Baptism Bingo for our activity.  It was a great evening!

Visiting Papa Bear

Sunday, we did make it out of the house on time and attended our new ward.  They received our membership so they did read our names.  Everyone was so welcoming to us.  It made us very excited to get to know everyone.  I am horrible with names, so it may take me awhile, but hopefully it won't be too hard!  After church, we stopped by the house again and saw that they started roofing the house. It looked great!  They also had all of the mudding done, and they just needed to do the texture on the walls.

After seeing the house, we headed down to Provo to visit Papa Bear, who had had back surgery a few days before.  We ate sandwiches we had packed earlier, on our way.  After they ate their lunch, I turned around to find them all zonked out.  Apparently we didn't go to bed early enough on Saturday night after our movie night.

We made it to see Papa Bear and the kids helped him eat the bag of M&M's we had brought for him.  They also got spoiled with juice and cookies from the nurse.  They were pretty happy about it!  Papa Bear was doing great and it was good to see him.

We headed home and made it time for a yummy pork chop dinner with my parents.  It was a very nice Sunday!

Lagoon and Friends

Last week we kept busy with our cousins, swimming lessons, Lagoon and friends!  On Thursday, we picked Nick up from work and headed to Lagoon and met up with Dawn and her kids.  It was SO hot, but we still had fun and enjoyed the afternoon.  We stopped at Arby's for dinner and stopped by the house to see the progress.

On Friday, we had dinner with our friends, Tiffany and Tovey Ashby.  I went to school with Tovey and we were all in a youth symphony together and have been friends ever since.  We hardly see each other, so we hope to get to hang out often since we are finally in the same county!  We enjoyed having them over for dinner and Carson and their girl, Haylee, who is just a bit younger than him really hit it off.  So much so, that we invited her over to play on Saturday, and she stayed almost all day and they had a riot!!  It was so fun for him to have a friend to play with.

It was a lazy Saturday, complete with Tacos for dinner.  We had movie night watching "McFarland" and having popcorn.  It was a great movie!  I highly recommend it.  We went to bed early so we could get up early and try to go to our new ward, again!

Family Dinner

We had the most wonderful family get together last Monday night with our whole family.  Well, almost our whole family.  We were missing Aarron and Justin, and a few of their older kids, but it was still great to have all of my siblings there.  We had yummy sweet pulled pork and that just made it even that much better!  It was perfect weather and it was great to just be with everyone at my parents house.  I wish we could get together more often, but I cherish it when it does happen.

Here are more pictures of our week.  Lots of swimming, sun, and fun!

Maris went back to Idaho on Tuesday and took Emily and Paul with her for the week.  So we had Aunt Tiff to ourselves and the kids really enjoyed spending time with her.  It was great to spend one on one time with her too.  I was glad that she was able to be here and I am happy she was able to get her house sold.  I know how stressful that can be!  But it was a good excuse for her to come and visit!  I hope we get to see her again soon!
