Christmas Performances and Parties!

The girls had a performance at Brookdale Assisted Living on the 17th.  All of my students did great and it was the last performance for this season.  We start class again on January 5th, so it is a nice break!  On Friday, the two younger kids and I went up to help Natalie at their new house.  They needed some cleaning done, but because there were a lot of people up there trying to finish everything, we didn't get a lot done.  But it was fun to see their house and entertain the kids for a little while.

The kids were excited to finish the rest of school for the year and get to Christmas break.  They have been wearing their snow gear to school, making it much more fun to play at recess!
Nick and I went out with the neighbors to Bella's Mexican Restaurant for a Christmas get together I guess you could call it.  On the way down, we saw the most beautiful sunset!  It was a fun evening getting to know our neighbors better!
On Saturday, I found this awesome note that Kaylee had written to Santa.  I believe Jingles, our elf, took it to him that day!

A Busy December

I was able to go and play the piano for a few of the grades Christmas songs they sang for the Parents concert and school singalong.  It was so fun being able to help out and use my skills!  It kept me busy a few afternoons for rehearsal, but with Nick's help and some friend's help with the kids, it worked out great!
Kaylee ended up with a strep AGAIN!  So another round of antibiotics helped her feel better fast!

Carson has been enjoying scouts and has made some pretty fun things there.  He came home with an awesome bird house and then the next week a train made all out of candy.
We have also stayed busy shoveling the snow and playing in the snow!  It is so pretty when it snows and we love being up on the hill (besides driving up the hill in the snow).  The back yard is beautiful with the snow and the kids loved playing in the tree fort above our house.  It is seriously the best!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This time of year is so fun!  We had the McConkies over and the kids made and decorated sugar cookies.  I love listening to Christmas music, eating goodies, being with family and of course we all love the snow!!!

We had some pretty good snow storms for the past few weeks and spent a lot of time shoveling the driveway!  Carson was great to get up early with me and help me shovel.  We also got some help from Mark across the street.  The kids have also loved playing in the snow!

It was a great few weeks leading up to Christmas!

Alivia's Field Trip to Christmas Village

On December 17th, Alivia had a field trip with her preschool to the Christmas Village in Ogden.  It was not too cold so it made for a pleasant trip!  I wasn't able to go, so she went with her friend Mercedez and her brother.  It worked out great and she had a blast.  Here are a few pictures I got from their mom and teacher.  We love her preschool!

Pantry, Concerts, and Sheetrock!

Lily came over to play the other day and I found her and Preston hiding in the Christmas Tree box.  They are so funny together!  We also got the rest of the pantry put in and screwed together.  Then we started putting all of the food in there and getting it all organized.  It made me so happy to see it come together!

I picked up some playdoh the other day at the store and the kids have been enjoying that several times now.  It is a great thing for them to do while I am working out.  It is worth the mess it makes!
Friday night, the 11th.  Carson had a choir concert at Weber High School.  The Lomond View Elementary school choir is amazing!  They have almost 160 kids in it and the songs were amazing.  I told Nick that was just another reason why I am so happy we moved here!

Again, Grandma was there to support Carson!  We love her!

Saturday morning, was a lazy morning and we enjoyed some homemade waffles for breakfast.  Nick came home from work early and the boys spent the rest of the day sheet rocking the two rooms downstairs in preparation for the mud and tape this past week.

Temple Square Outing

On Wednesday, the 9th, we headed down to SLC to see the lights at Temple Square.  We made a stop at Panda Express in Bountiful on our way there.  Yum!

The Tanner's and Kimberly joined us for the warm night.  And I mean not HOT, but definitely warm for a December night.  It was probably was over degrees out, making it a very pleasant evening.  By the time the night was over, some didn't have their hats on!

It was crazy busy and there were a bajillion people there, but it was still fun and we still got to see all the lights and enjoy the evening with friends.

It was the second late night in a row for us, but totally worth it!
