My two girls...

I post about my girls a lot, but that is because I am lucky enough to spend so much time with them!  Kaylee is such a good big sister and loves to be with Livy.  There are a lot of times I have to ask her to leave her alone, because she can bug Alivia more than help her.  So the #1 rule for Kaylee of Alivia is to leave her alone, unless we ask her to help.  But other than that, they get along great!

 Alivia is finally getting big enough to find matching clothes in both of the girls sizes.  I found these cute shirts at Target the other day, and Kaylee was so excited to wear her shirt with Alivia.  (They even have cute matching shorts to go with them, but it isn't quite short weather yet!).

Kaylee is such a great helper and is being a great example for Alivia.  Kaylee is great to help get diapers, throw things away, put dirty clothes in the hamper, and help with dishes and other chores.  I can't believe how big Kaylee is getting and how smart she is.  I am so grateful for both of my girls and of course my handsome boy Carson too!!!

Livy....you make us laugh!

Alivia is always making us smile and laugh.  She is great at entertaining the kids just doing silly things. She loves to try and 'sing'.  When we are singing, she does a cute little "Ahhh....Ahhh.." and the kids just think it is hilarious!  She also LOVES the vacuum.  Every time I have it out, she is all over it and loves to have me hold her while I vacuum.  We had it out the other day while we were getting ready to tile, and she of course was all over it!  

 She also loves the treadmill.  She will sit up on the ledge and sit there for a few minutes at a time and just chill.  It is fun to see how good her balance and ability to climb is getting.

Besides the treadmill and vacuum, she loves the dishwasher!  If she hears me open it, she crawls over as fast as she can and either pulls stuff out or climbs on the door and plays in the water that is on the door.  It is funny!

Another cute thing she does is shakes her head NO when we say "no no no!".  The kids do it for no reason just to see her shake her head.  It is cute!  It is so fun to see your baby hit milestones and learn new things...it is amazing how smart they are at such a young age!  Oh Livy, you make us laugh!

Tile Time!

We finished Carson's room and the laundry room last year before Alivia was born.  The only thing we didn't finish was the floor in the laundry room, so finally we tackled it over the weekend.  This is the very last thing that needs to be finished in the basement to be considered 100% complete.  Wow!!  We picked out the tile on Saturday and since Monday was President's day, Nick didn't have to go to work, so he laid the tile.  It worked out great!  We still need to grout it and seal it, but the hardest part is over!  He did a great job and Carson was an amazing helper!  He worked beside him ALL day, helping in any way he could.  He is SO much like his dad!  Here are some pictures of the work that was done that day.

I think it looks great and I am excited to get it all finished and put back together.  The next thing to do in the laundry room is to add some cabinets and a counter top.  But who knows when that will happen, we still have a huge wish list of other projects that need to be done around the house.  I am just so thankful that I have a husband who is so handy around the house!

More Treehouse....

On Friday, the kids didn't have school because of a teacher work day, so we met up with Natalie and her girls at the Treehouse museum.  Carson was happy he could go this time!  The girls were excited to show him the Baby section.  It was a busy place that day, but the kids still found plenty to do!

After the treehouse, we met up with Uncle Matt for lunch at Costco.  We enjoyed some yummy hot dogs, churro, and chocolate frozen yogurt.  Love that place!!!  It is always fun to spend time with family!  Yesterday, Carson had his last day of Basketball at the rec center.  He enjoyed it, but said that it is really hard.  I think maybe next year it will be easier when he has a bit more coordination.  Last night, we enjoyed some dinner with the kids at Cafe Rio and then picked out some tile at Home Depot for our laundry room.  Once we get it tiled, our house will be 100% finished!  That will be nice!  So that is our project for tomorrow, since Nick has the day off for President's day.  Wish us luck!

Sugar High!

I think we had quite the sugar high after our Valentines day Tuesday!  Both Carson and Kaylee had fun with their class parties and we enjoyed some yummy sugar cookies that Aunt Natalie had mailed to us.  We also got some valentines from Grandma Joy in the mail.  It was a fun day!

On Wednesday, Uncle Ryan came up and worked on the jeep with Nick.  I think they had a lot of fun...Nick was pretty proud of the progress they made!

One more quick thing...Alivia turned 11 months yesterday.  Which means she only has one more month before she turns ONE!!!  Crazy!  I tried taking a picture and she wanted to just crawl all over me and grab the camera.  I finally told her NO and sat her down and she started to cry...so this is what I got.

Be My Valentine!!!

Tuesday was Valentines!  But we celebrated early by making cupcakes on Monday for FHE.  Grandma Karen had sent us a package in the mail with a fun cupcake mix with frosting and cute cupcake holders.  They were super yummy!  

Alivia had fun playing around with all the toys while we made up the cupcakes!

I don't have any pictures from our actual Valentines day, but it was great.  Carson and Kaylee both had fun with their class parties at school.  They both got a TON of candy!  Nick and I had celebrated over the weekend when we went out with Matt & Nat to dinner and to the movie "The Vow".  So we spent the evening having dinner (pizza from Costco), doing homework with Carson, and watching TV once the kids went to bed.  It was pretty low key, but that is how I think we prefer it!

Checkup...then Treehouse!

Yesterday we had a busy and fun day!  We started our day out with our normal MWF routine of working out with my good friend Jen.  She comes over to borrow my treadmill and I either do a video or ride my bike.  It works out great!!!  Then we got ready and headed to Kaylee's 4 year checkup with Dr. Reese.  Our appt was at 11:20, and we finally were seen at Noon.  I guess they had some computer problems.  Luckily Alivia was happy as can be hanging out in the little umbrella stroller and enjoyed the fun rides she was getting from Kaylee.  Dr. Reese says Kaylee is doing great!  She is 40" tall (56%) and weighs 34 lb (42%).  So she is right where she is supposed to be!  She had to get her blood drawn to check her thyroid levels, like we do every year at her check up.  This is to make sure her medicine is the right dosage.  Last year we had to increase it by 25 mg.  I am hoping it stays the same this year, since it will help avoid having to get her blood drawn again!  But she was SO brave.  We had been talking about it for a few days and trying to prep her so she would be ready to get her blood drawn.  I couldn't have been more proud of her.  She was more than happy to go with the nurse and so the nurse turned to me and asked "Does she know what she has to do?" And I explained to the nurse that she is very aware of what she has to have done.  We told her she would get a 'poke' and that it could hurt and feel like a pinch.  We told her that it might make her cry but it would be fast.  We told her it was okay if she cried and that after she is all done, she would probably get a prize from the treasure chest.  Which is exactly what the nurses told her and so she was excited about that.  She was a champ and sat still while they drew her blood.  She only said "Ouch" and then kind of puffed out her cheeks and held her breathe....then she smiled and said "I only said Ouch....." while they were still drawing her blood.  She was so proud of herself that she didn't cry and she said it was only a small poke.  I think the two nurses got a kick out of it!  They told her she was so brave and even tougher than some of their older patients!  She picked out a cute butterfly ring from the treasure box and she walked out of there with a big smile.  I had used my phone to take this picture and I thought I had got the whole thing on video...but I didn't save it once I took the video...so I don't have video...and that made me So sad, because I wanted to show Nick how brave she was!  It really was one of the cutest things I have seen her do!  Oh well...I will be better prepared next time.  At least I got a picture...you can see how happy she was to be there!  She is such a doll!

 I told her the night before that if she would let them poke her, we would go to Treehouse museum afterwards.  So we made a quick stop at Panda Express to eat lunch.  She ATE a ton and it was so fun to go out to eat with just my two girls!  Then we met up with Natalie, Hallie, and Gracie in Ogden at the Treehouse museum to play for the afternoon!

The girls had a blast and it was fun to visit with Natalie and see cute baby Gracie!!!  We made it home in time for dinner and to just relax the rest of the evening.

Superbowl Birthday Party!

I finally downloaded the pictures from the fun Superbowl Birthday party we had at Matt's house on Sunday.  We got there right before the Superbowl started and enjoyed yummy BBQ Pork Sandwhiches and a TON of other great food!  Of course, Nick had to make things even more exciting then Matt's birthday and the superbowl and get some of the pork stuck in his esophagus and so we made a quick trip to the ER down the road.  By the time they got us checked in, he went to the restroom and he was able to get it out before he was seen...so it was a very short trip to the ER and thankfully we didn't have to pay the Copay!  It was a bit crazy!!  So we made it back to the party in time to take some fun pictures, eat some cake and sing happy birthday and finish watching the Madonna Halftime show.  Here are some of the pictures of the party!

It is always fun when we get to spend time with family!!  We are really enjoying 9 o'clock church so we are able to spend the rest of the day with our family or visiting family.  It makes it a lot easier, that's for sure!  Happy Birthday to my 'Older' Brother Matt....I mean he DOES look older right?!?!  Haha!!!  Love ya Matt!

Pointing Princess

The last few days I have discovered that Livy loves to Point!!  It doesn't matter which hand...but she loves to point at things and people.  Last night during FHE, I had the camera out and she kept pointing to me and laughing....so I took a few pictures.  She was so cute!!  

I think she loves her fingers and has realized how useful they are.  Not only for pointing, but she loves the feel on her pointer finger in her wet nose.  Yes...she LOVES to put her finger up her nose if it is runny.  So I am constantly wiping it just to make sure it isn't runny!  Okay, she doesn't do it all the time, but enough that I have noticed it!  She also loves to 'sing'.  On Sunday, during one of the songs in Sacrament, she was making quite a bit of noise while we sang...almost like she was trying to sing with us. Then for FHE last night, we were singing an opening song and she was trying to sing with us again...but even louder.  It was so cute and the other kids thought it was hilarious!!  So maybe I will be lucky and have not one but TWO girls who love to sing!!  It is cute to hear Kaylee singing throughout the house all day long.  Right now they are learning two songs from Annie, "Tomorrow" and "Never fully dressed without a smile".  So I hear lines from those songs and I start singing with her and she loves it!  It is just my favorite thing!!!

Valentine Boxes

Last night for FHE, for our activity we helped the kids make a Valentines Box.  I found this idea on Pinterest!  It turned out really cute.  We used empty cereal boxes and some of my old scrap booking paper (Nick was happy to see it get used I'm sure!).  The kids did a great job decorating them with stickers and then we finished them off with a ribbon handle.  I think they will work great to hold their valentines in!

We finished off the evening with some Ice Cream.  Yum!  It was a fun activity.  I have seen Kaylee carrying around her box a few times today!  It was cute!  The next thing to work on is the Valentines they are taking to school.  We need to put names on all of them for their parties they both have next Tuesday...I think I just came up with next week's FHE!!!
