Sunday in SF was the funnest yet! We had breakfast and then rented some bikes to ride over the bridge. It was a little crazy getting to the bridge, since that morning there was an all female (They called in the Mermaid Series) 5k and 10K race right on the trail we were going on. The race was over, but there was a lot of people there. We went slow and finally made it to the bridge. It was so cool up close!
We made it across the bridge! We decided to continue onto Sausalito and then into Tiburon on the bikes with a stop at Old Mill Park to see really tall trees! It was beautiful weather! We had lunch in Tiburon before taking the ferry back over to San Fransisco. It was delicious pizza! We enjoyed seeing the more scenic part of the bay area!
The whole bike riding was the best idea and I am glad we did it! We tried hard to get ready fast and head back down to Market Street to see if we could get any last minute cheap tickets to the Lion King, but we didn't make it in time. The bus we were riding on was at a stop light and when it went again it took off a van door that someone had opened while it was stopped. It was kind of funny, but it meant we had to get off and walk the rest of the way so that slowed us down. But we had a fun adventure riding buses there and back. We took the trolley back to Fisherman's wharf and ate at the Bueana Vista, with advice from a passenger we met on the trolley. It is a cool restaurant and a famous one, but only if you drink and have lots of money. We had an overpriced dinner, but I guess that is part of SF.
The next morning we did some more sight seeing, including taking the cable car to Lombard street. The most crooked street in the world! It was so cool to see in person!
We had lunch at Chipotle and then headed back to the airport that afternoon using BART again and it was smooth! While waiting for our plane, we watched movies and ran into some Utah Friends, Jordan and Kate Yospe. They were also in SF for the weekend and were on the same flight home. Small world! Overall it was a great trip! I don't know if I would go back now that I have seen it all. It is dirty, lots of homeless and weird people, and the food and everything is so expensive. But I can at least say I have been there! It was a great break from the kids, but I missed them and I was glad to get home and see them again. When we got home, Alivia and Preston had pretty bad colds and I took them to the doctors the next day. Alivia had an ear infection and Preston had a sinus infection. Poor kids! But glad we could get them right in and on antibiotics right away. But what a way to get back into the real world! We had choir early tuesday, lots of laundry, doctor appointments, and dance that night. It was a long first day back in UT and it didn't slow down the rest of the week!
