Meet Jingles!

On Wednesday, Kaylee brought home this cute letter to Santa that she wrote in school.  It said "I have not had a elf.  all my friends have a elf.  Can I have a elf?".  So magically guess what appeared at our doorstep last night?  An Elf on a Shelf!!!  It had its own book and everything.  We had to name it, which we decided on Jingles, and there is a rule that the kids can't touch it.  It watches from different places around the house to make sure the kids are doing what they are supposed to, then reports back to Santa.  The kids couldn't have been more excited!  We found him sitting on our shelf in the tv room next to the candlestick this morning.  I think it is going to be a lot of fun having him here this holiday season!

Kaylee also brought home a countdown to Christmas chart.  She loves putting on a cotton ball every day!  Today after I took the kids to school, we spent the morning cleaning and the kids just played.  Alivia's friend, Gentry, dropped off a treat for Alivia and then was able to come over and play for a bit.  She even brought playdoh for them to all play with.  They had a blast!  She is such a good friend to Alivia.

After school, Kaylee had Sophia Garaycochea over to play.  I got to know her mom really well last year when we worked on the book fair together.  Deb & Dave (next door neighbors) are her aunt and uncle.  Kaylee & Sophie are in the same class at school.  They are cute together!  We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening sorting through toys, keeping some, donating the rest, rearranging the furniture to find room for a christmas tree, and organizing everything.  It wasn't what we wanted to do, but it has needed to be done for so long so it felt so good to get it done.  Our tree has been up for 3 days, but we still haven't decorated it yet.  Maybe we will get to that tomorrow!
