Bennett Family Reunion, 2014

Last Saturday, after Nick and I finished the triathlon, we got ready at the house and then headed up to the cabin for the reunion.  The kids had a fun morning playing and enjoying the cousins while we were gone.  They especially enjoyed Uncle Ryan.  He is so good to them and we were so glad that he was able to come up from California to be there.

We always have the yummiest food at the reunion, and this year was no exception.  We enjoyed dutch oven potatoes (My favorite) and chicken and pork.  We brought a pasta salad, pineapple, and rice krispie treats to share.

Preston was just in heaven being at the cabin.  He played with the dump truck, in the sand box, and loved getting cups of water and dumping them somewhere.  Everyone was so nice to him and would play with him too.

The rest of the afternoon was spent sitting around and visiting and catching up with family.  Nick and I took the two babies down to the house for a nap and Preston was out before we even hit the first cattle gate.

While we napped, the older kids stayed at the cabin and played.  We made it back up to the cabin a little after 5 for a bonfire and some dinner.  We always do a hot dog roast that evening with anyone who has stayed.  That is when the real party begins and we always enjoy s'mores with our hot dogs.

As you can tell from all the pictures, the cabin experience is a lot of fun.  Yes, there may not be a flushing toilet or running water, but it is seriously the prettiest place.  The view from up on the field is priceless and has the best sunsets.  The kids are free to run and play and they just hate to leave.  I am so glad that our family has such a neat place to spend time together.  It isn't a fancy cabin, a boat, or vacation home, but our kids love it and would go there over Disneyland any day!  I feel like this is where the best memories are made and will be made.
