Halloween 2009

What a fun weekend! Our Halloween celebration kind of started Friday evening. Matt, Nat, and Hallie came down from Ogden to have dinner with us and decorate cookies. Even Gma & Gpa stopped by on their way to a Jazz Game (The Motab was singing the National Anthem). We all had tons of fun holding and playing with Hallie. She is 5 weeks old and still SO little! Kaylee didn't hold her, but had a great time looking at her...I think she likes her!

Nana made some yummy and SOFT sugar cookies for the kids to frost. Both Carson & Kaylee had a blast with the frosting!

Carson dumped probably 1/2 the jar of sprinkles on this cookie, and then spread more frosting on top before eating it....eventually it turned into a cookies sandwich when he added another cookie on top!

Kaylee didn't eat the cookie....just the frosting!

It was fun to spend time with them and their little girl! Thanks again for coming down!

On Saturday, we thought we had better get one more use out of our passes to Lagoon, so after lunchtime we met up with our friends, the Yospe's and enjoyed some rides at Lagoon. I let the kids wear their costumes there. It was fun!

It was such a NICE and SUNNY day! I couldn't believe how nice it was! It made for a fantastic afternoon!

After Lagoon we picked up a Jack-O-Lantern Pizza for dinner! How appropriate for Halloween don't you think
Then we got all ready to go Trick Or Treating around the neighborhood.

Here is our Handsome Cowboy and Cute Ladybug!

Grandma Karen had given them these cute candy bags. They worked great, but since Kaylee is so small that by the time they were done she had drug a HOLE in the bottom of it and Nick had to tie it to keep all the candy from falling out! Next year that shouldn't be a problem!

Don't you think Carson has the cutest little skinny Cowboy legs?? I don't think just any child can pull that look off!

After a few houses we met up with the Yospe's once again to go trick or treating all together. Well, Jana & I stayed home to pass out candy and Nick took the kids around the block!

Carson liked the trick or treating, but couldn't wait to get home to help pass out the candy! And I was so happy that the weather was so warm! It made it even more enjoyable! Every year gets more and more fun! I just can't believe it is now November! Where did the year go? Bring on the Holiday Season!!!

Pumpkin Time!

Tonight we carved our pumpkins! For the past 2 years, we carved them with our good friends, the Yospe's, so tonight we continued the tradition and had a blast eating soup & bread, and carving pumpkins as families. Carson had fun just carving the pumpkin to pieces, and if I wouldn't have stopped him, he would have just carved his pumpkin right in half! Notice the gloves? Thanks to Nick, it made carving the pumpkins less itchy and messy! I recommend them to anyone carving pumpkins!
I didn't get a picture of it, but Kaylee dug right in with her hands to get the seeds out of the pumpkin, and even tried to eat them! But she also liked playing with the gloves too....

I think we are now ready for Halloween!

Our Cute Kayleebug....

Our cute little Kaylee has several names she is called by during the day....Kaylee, Kayleeboo, Sis, pumpkin, princess, little stinker, and so on....but one of the names we also call her is KayleeBug! So this is her in her ladybug costume...I think it is fitting to her name!

She has been quite a challenge lately since she loves to scream and squeal really loud to get what she wants, but I still love her! She can also be very fun and loving! She loves to come and sit on my lap and I sing to her. She tries to sing with me, and her favorite song is Skinamarinkadinkadink...I LOVE YOU! She can sing the last part SO cute with me! So I sing it all the time cause it makes me smile every time. Last night she was eating grapes and I just had to take a picture of how cute she was being.
She got this cute outfit from her Grandma Karen....Thanks Grandma! It fits perfect!! I think it looks so adorable on her too!!! And can you see how green her eyes are getting?? Love that too!!!

Preschool Halloween Party!

Today at Carson's preschool, they had a Halloween Party. It was quite the morning getting him ready for it. I though we were on top of things, and I had ironed his shirt the night before, and we made sure he had a black belt to go with his wrangler jeans. But when I went to put his belt on, the extra hole we made in the belt so it would fit, made the belt TOO little, and so I had to just put on his dark brown belt instead. Then when I told him to get his boots on, which I thought were in the garage, he went out to get them and then came and told me they were in the back yard! What?!?! So I went out back, and sure enough, next to the trampoline are laying his boots, covered in frost. So I picked them up and realized they were practically frozen. So I ran downstairs and threw them in the dryer to heat them up a bit. I called Kristi, who normally takes the kids, and told her I would just have to take Carson myself since his boots are thawing! So finally his boots were warmed up enough that he could wear them, and we finished getting ready for the party. We still made it on time for school to start. I took some pictures before I left and then gave my camera to Kristi to have since she was going to be staying for some of the party to take more pictures for me. This is Carson before school...

Miss Wendy had them make these super cute bags to take trick or treating with them. Then, they went trick or treating to a few neighbors houses. Carson came home with some fun stuff like stickers, candy, and glow sticks.

For their snack today they had "Bones" and sauce. Pretty clever!!!

All the kids looked great in their costumes. I can't wait for Saturday. Kaylee loves her ladybug costume. I got her costume at the DI and just had to sew a part on the costume that had come undone, and so last night after I fixed it, we tried it on her. She loved it!! I was going to make her a cowgirl, but this ladybug costume is pretty adorable on her! We are planning on carving pumpkins tonight and we still need to go buy some candy to pass out. (My plan was to get it at the last possible moment to avoid opening the candy and eating it all gone before Halloween got here!) Can't wait to post more pictures! Happy Halloween!

First snow of the season!

This morning at 7, I awoke to Carson coming in my room telling me he was looking for snow. So we both looked out the window and saw some rain mixed with snow coming down. I told him I wasn't sure if it would snow or not but we will just have to wait and see. So finally around 9 or so it turned into SNOW!! He was so excited and kept asking if he could go and play in the snow. I told him it would be best to wait until after lunch. Of course then he wanted lunch at 9 in the morning! So after excersing and getting ready for the day, I went on a hunt throughout the house trying to remember where all the snow gear was. With some luck I found enough stuff to venture outside for a bit. (I am still missing boots and gloves for Both Kids!) Carson had to use my gloves and wear his sprinkler boots, and I used socks for Kaylee's hands. But we made it work!

Kaylee did really good in the snow too!! She mainly just watched Carson and I attempt to build a snowman.

They play so well together! Unfortunately, Kaylee's hands eventually got too cold for her comfort and we headed in for some lunch. Carson headed back outside once we had lunch and Kaylee went down for a nap. He is outside right now still playing!!

I love the snow...call me crazy, but I do!! I really don't like having to put on so much stuff to play in it, but it is worth it! This winter should be super fun! I just hope we can make it through Halloween before we have any more snow....then let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

Playin' at the Pumpkin Patch!

Today Carson had a field trip to a Pumpkin Patch with his preschool. Other than it being FREEZING cold, it was a fun morning! The Pumpkin Patch had a cute little maze made out of hay bails. The kids loved it! I guess the day before, it was super crowded, but today we practically had the maze to ourselves! The kids loved just running around and playing hide and go seek.

The maze had a fun bridge that you could climb up on and see the whole maze. It was super fun to watch the kids play!

Even Miss Wendy took her turn hiding and the kids had to find her. Carson was one of the first ones to find her, so they both hid and waited for the rest of the class to find them! We like Miss Wendy a lot! She does a great job and Carson really likes her!

After the maze, the kids got to pick out a pumpkin....all by themselves. According to Carson this was his favorite part of the trip. I think he found one of the biggest pumpkins he could carry! And he managed to carry it through the field and add it to the big wheel barrow. Some of the kids picked BIG ones and some picked small ones....it was so fun to see what they picked out. But oh...the pumpkins were wet & muddy!

After picking out their pumpkins, they sat on the 'hay benches' and got to listen to the farmer talk about pumpkins and other fun farm things!

He even read them a story about a boy and a BIG pumpkin!

In another tent, they had this cute puppet, that even talked! (There was a man hidden behind a wall of hay bails that used a microphone....he was hilarious!) His name was Tumbleweed the Cowboy....and he had just blown into town!

This was a super fun field trip. It was so enjoyable to be able to go with Carson and his class. Thanks Melissa for watching Kaylee for me, it definitely made it easier to enjoy! I can't wait for the upcoming field trips, since they get to do one every month. It is just so funny to see a whole bunch of 4 year olds together and hear the types of conversations they have!

"Got2Points"

While us girls were watching the movie "The Proposal" last night, I got the cutest Picture Message on my phone from Nick. It was this picture with the caption "Got2Points". You can tell Carson is having a blast!!! I was glad to hear they got a deer the first day. Later on during a phone conversation with Carson he said it was "SO COOL". He also explained to me that they already got it hung in a tree. I am so glad he is having such a fun time with Dad. Today at church sitting in Sacrament Meeting with just Kaylee made me realize how much I was missing Carson and Nick. I was hoping to hear they were coming home early since they got a deer already, but there is much more camping, 4wheeling, and mountain exploring to do before they can officially be done 'hunting'.

But don't let this pretty little face fool you....she is quite a handful! She is a very determined, independent, and amazing little girl!!! Oh how I love her...even though I do complain about how much of a pill she can be! Today the boys (Carson & Nicholas) left for Holden for a weekend of camping and hunting. Carson was so excited I think he told anyone he saw that he was going hunting with his dad...including the county health dept people who gave him his H1N1 virus shot this morning. It is so fun to see him so excited about it. I know he will be in heaven all weekend. Since the boys are gone that leaves Kaylee and I to enjoy a girls weekend. We don't have anything too exciting planned, but after she got up from her nap I decided to play hair with her and see what else I could do with her hair. I was able to get two pony tails on her head, using ALL of her hair, not just the long mop on top! She looked adorable...and before she had a chance to mess it up, I thought I had better take pictures so I could prove to Nick it could be done. This first one you can't tell how her hair is done, but I loved the way she looked in it...doesn't she look so BIG!!!???!!

Since I don't have a working flash on my camera right now I thought I had better take these outside to get the best shot of her hair....

She love to jump, be outside, and do everything her big brother does...I have a feeling that BOTH of us will miss our guys this weekend. But until they get back there are a lot of fun girly things we can do to pass the time!
