Birthday Week

Last week was a busy one which made for a fun birthday week!  We are in full choir mode with music meetings, practice, song arranging and more!  Poor Preston gets to tag along with me to 90% of it!  He is a trooper and I have found a few things to help him through it all!  Sometimes he goes to a friend's house, plays with the kids at lunch, sometimes he plays Minecraft, sometimes he watches movies, eats snacks, and even draws on Melissa's smart board!  Either way, he does great!!!  

 I got home Monday from our choir meeting to a wonderful plate of yummy cupcakes from my good friend Heidi Clarke!  It was so sweet of her to bring them to me and wish me an early Happy Birthday!

 Wednesday was full of field trips!  Kaylee had a ski field trip to Snowbasin with the 4th grade and Carson had a field trip to the Hale Center Theatre to see Hunchback of Notre Dame.  I offered to volunteer and go with him!  It was only $6 and the best money spent!!!  We had a fun bus trip down and we were amazed at the stage and the talent of the actors!  Wow!!!!  Grandpa Brower was nice enough to come and stay with Preston for the morning so I could go.  So thankful!  It really was a great way to lead up to my Birthday!

Eden's Blessing

We are all so in love with our new niece Eden!  (Chris & Krissy's baby).  Since she was born so early, not a lot of family got to see her, so we were all anxious to see her for her blessing.  Chris and Krissy held a family dinner on Saturday before the blessing.  We were happy to host it at our home.  We ate a yummy pasta bar, but really the highlight was baby Eden!!!!

Since Alivia was still sick, I only took Carson & Kaylee with me to Kaysville for the blessing.  And of course, it hasn't snowed all winter, and it snowed a ton that morning!  So it was a little stressful of a drive but by the time we headed home the sun came out and the roads were just wet.  So that was good!  It was so fun being together as a family for the weekend!!  Tiffany & Aaron moved to Idaho falls just the week before, so now they will get to be to family gatherings more often!  Yay!!

Soccer Swim Party!

We had a great time at the Swat sponsored swim party at the Clearfield Aquatic center on Friday, March 2nd.  Kaylee had Sophie tag along, and Carson invited Ian.  Poor Alivia had been running a fever, so she wasn't able to go and had to stay home with dad.  She was devastated and I don't blame her.  Even though it was really crowded, it was a lot of fun for the kids.  Preston had the best time!  He only got out of the water to use the restroom and was so sad when we had to leave!  We stopped at McDonald's for fries and ice cream on the way home.  Yum!

Saturday morning, I had a fun meeting with the other Performance Academy teachers for Disneyland.  Laura always out does herself with the food and it was amazing!  It went a little long and by the time I got home Nick had ended up taking Alivia to Instacare because she still had a fever and it turns out she had strep.  Luckily they did a shot of medicine so she felt better by Sunday afternoon!  She wasn't a fan of the shot, but when she felt better the next day she was thrilled about it! 

A Girl Thing!

Alivia was so excited Monday morning to have $2 under her pillow from the tooth fairy!  I am glad she finally got a chance to get that visit from the tooth fairy!  I think she thought she would be the last one in her class, which she just might be!

Because of the snow storm on the previous Friday, I had to reschedule my hair appointment with Heather in Bountiful to Tuesday.  I ended up having Preston tag a long with me and he did great just playing on the ipad!  We met up with Dawn and Jana afterwards at Arctic Circle for lunch with some of the kiddos!  It is always fun hanging out with our Woods Cross friends!!! 

 I had dance Tuesday, along with many activities for the kids like activity days, piano, young mens and dance for the girls.  Tuesdays are always the craziest!   But Preston always manages to find time for relaxation, especially bubble baths.  He took one Wednesday morning since he didn't have school.  He loves the water!!!

 Wednesday evening I had the chance to go do a session with these cute ladies at the Ogden Temple.  I have set a goal to make it to the Temple weekly, and so far I have only missed twice.  So I am at least some what consistent, but it is hard!  Life is crazy and there is always an excuse not to go, but I find when I do, I am so much happier!!!

 We of course made the evening even more fun, but hanging out a Chili's before heading home!  Yum!  It was also a way to celebrate Brittany McConkie's bday that was the day before!  Love my friends!!!

Alivia Finally Lost a Tooth!

Before we headed home Saturday from Logan's ballroom competition, we stopped at the Golden Jade for some chinese food.  It was delicious and the service was great!  It wasn't crowded, but it was also already after 7 PM.  But the drive through was backed up!  It was different than Panda, but we loved the egg drop soup and the teriyaki chicken was the best!  And so was the sweet & sour chicken!  We had a fun drive home through a snowy canyon, but did make it home!!

 Sunday morning, Carson, Kaylee & I went to church early for choir practice.  When I left, Alivia still had all her teeth, and when she got to church she showed me that she lost one!  She has been wanting to lose a tooth all year!  I guess you get a sticker at school when you do!  Nick ended up pulling her tooth before the came to church.  The tooth under neath it was already coming in behind her teeth so it was time!  Now she has a cute gap smile! 

We also took a quick pic before leaving church!  We were all wearing our floral dresses and we even matched the couch!!  Haha!  I love these cute girls of mine!

Logan Classic 2018

Last Saturday, the 24th, we headed up super early to Logan for the Logan Classic Ballroom Competition.  They did so good!!!  They did a team performance to "Can't Stop this Feeling".  They were amazing and I was loving all the faces Kaylee was pulling!  They ended up taking 2nd place!  They have worked so hard and I am so proud of both Carson & Kaylee for being such great team players and performing so well!  After their performance at 8:30 that morning, we had most of the day to wait and watch the other performances before their syllabus rounds that started at 3 PM.  

We made a quick trip to McDonald's, which was a little disappointing, since I guess you can't order chicken nuggets at 10:45 because they are still serving breakfast!  But we were ready for lunch since we left our house just after 6 AM. 

The kids did great doing the Swing, Fox Trot and Samba during syllabus.  Carson & Kaylee partnered for the swing and took 4th in their division after 3 rounds!  Kaylee partnered with Wyatt on the Fox Trot and they also took 4th!  Kaylee partnered with Adam on Samba and they took 2nd place!!!  It was so awesome!  Carson made it through 2 rounds of Fox Trot before being cut and I was so proud of him!

Oh, just another trip to the ER!

The week of Valentine's Day, Carson had a Valentine's Dance for Jr. High and it was combined with Walquist Jr. High in Farr West.  He was so excited to go to another dance since he had such a great time at the last one!  He was able to catch a ride there with the Wildens from our ward.  So at least he got to show up with some pretty cute girls!  He said he had fun, but the DJ didn't play the best music to really dance to, so it wasn't as much fun as the last one.  But I have heard from several people that he did a great job asking girls to dance and making it a lot of fun!  I love this kid so much!

 We had Friday off for a Teacher Comp day making our President's day weekend extra long.  The kids enjoyed the lazy Friday and played in the basement and used our workout room flooring to make a little house.  I guess who needs toys when you have puzzle piece flooring?

 After lunch, I got a call from Nick saying he had gotten his lunch stuck in his throat (a common problem for him unfortunately).  He was eating left over sloppy joe!  So I dropped the older kids off to Heather Cragun's house so they could make it to an extra ballroom rehearsal, and I took the younger kids and met him at McKay Dee's ER.  We had a LONG wait in the ER waiting to see if medicine would help relax the esophagus muscle and get the food to pass, but it didn't work, so they finally sent us up to the GI lab to get it scoped.  I grabbed food and an Ipad, but the food didn't last long and the Ipad only had 9% left on the battery, and our phones didn't have much more.  So it was a LONG wait for the little kids and myself!  I would have left and come back, but I kept thinking any minute they would come and do the scope and we could go home.  We went to the GI lab at 3:30 and by 5:30 they finally were done.  Dr. Ziegler said it was one of the most complex endoscopy he has ever done.  It took them almost 1 1/2 hours, 2 nets and 20 scopes to get all the food out!  Wow!  He was put on a liquid diet for 3 days and a soft food diet for 3 weeks, but by the following Tuesday he was eating pizza because he couldn't take it anymore!  Haha!  He is now seeing an allergist and has a barium swallow scheduled for next week to see what else can be done to avoid having this happen again.

 Luckily, besides the drugs they used to put him to sleep, Nick felt fine and was able to work the next day for overtime.  The kids and I spent the morning cleaning before catching the movie "Paddington 2".  It was a cute movie!  That night Nick and I went on a date to Zupa's since soup is on the menu there and Nick could have it!  We had church the next day and Monday on President's day, Nick and Carson had an eye appt.  The girls played with friends, and Alivia went to Tumbling.  Nick built a little bit more in the downstairs bathroom.  So it was a pretty easy going day!  And after our long day Friday at the ER, that was totally okay with me!!!
