Give me a "K"!!!!

The kids were both so excited to go to school today.  Carson has a party at the end of the day and was able to take his Ninja Turtle costume to change into.  Kaylee was able to wear her costume to school and was super excited to get her costume on.  She wanted her hair in high piggy tails like we did for the ward carnival and she was happy with how it looked.  I also thought her hair turned out cute.  She looked so cute that I just had to take a few pictures before she left for school.

She is so photogenic and it is so fun to see her personality just shine!  Alivia was so upset that she wasn't in her costume when Kaylee left, so I let her put on her princess dress for a bit so she would be happy.  The plan for tonight is to have some pizza for dinner and then Nick is taking the kids trick or treating afterwards.  The weather is a little chilly, but since there shouldn't be any rain, it should be a great night!

Pumpkin Time!

We decided to carve pumpkins tonight so we would have enough time to carve them all.  We sure made a mess but had some fun doing it!  We used this really cool drill thing that looks like an egg beater that helped us clean out the inside of the pumpkins.  It worked great!  Kaylee loved cleaning out the seeds and didn't mind one bit getting her hands all messy, in fact I think she thought it was pretty fun!  Preston hung out during most of it and watched us make a big mess!

The kids did a great job carving their own pumpkins.  And it was fun letting them do it without a lot of help!  We also ended up carving 7 pumpkins!  Again, we made a MESS!!!!

I also got in some drill action using it to make a design on one of the pumpkins.  The kids also took a turn using the drill and adding some holes to their pumpkins.

It was such a fun night with the kids!  I know they are going to have a blast this year on Halloween!

Paper Flowers

We had a wonderful day at church today.  Carson actually went with our neighbor Erin to go and watch his friend, Kalie, in her primary program in her dad's ward in Magna.  He left a little after ten and the rest of us got to church at 11.  We had a great Testimony Meeting.  Carson made it back in time for his primary class, but missed singing time, which was a lot of fun.  I had the kids come up and pick one pumpkin with a song and another pumpkin with an action.  It was pretty fun and the kids seemed to enjoyed it.  Right as I was starting Sr Primary singing time, the CTR 5 class came in and gave me these cute paper flowers and a necklace with pictures of them singing to thank me for my service I give.  They had a lesson on service and they used my calling as the chorister to show the service I give every week during singing time.  It was the sweetest thing ever!  I wanted to cry!  I wore the necklace for the rest of singing time.  I had Kaylee take a picture of me when we got home.  That was pretty funny in itself!  But she ended up taking a few good ones that didn't have my head cut off! Don't you think that is the cutest thing ever though?? It made my day!

A Beautiful Saturday!

After the Baptism, we headed back to Holden for a Hamburger lunch.  The kids made smore's for dessert.  They spent the rest of the day playing outside and having fun with their cousins.  The weather was absolutely beautiful and sunny.  The kids even got to ride on the tractor.

Nick also got to try on his clown pants that Karen had made for him.  It was awesome!!  I think they are going to be a big hit on Halloween Night.  The kids thought it was hilarious!

We played a little more before heading over to Delta to visit Gma Pace at her home and Gpa Pace at the nursing home.

We stopped at McDonalds in Delta for dinner before heading home.  We made it home around 8:30 and got the kids right into bed.  They were exhausted.  I think they played so hard that they wore themselves completely out!  Overall, it was a great weekend and I know the kids had a blast!

Austyn's Baptism

We headed down to Holden on Friday after Nick got home from work and Kaylee was done with dance.  We were going down to be there for our niece Austyn's Baptism.  We stopped at Fazoli's in Draper for dinner on our way down.  We made it down to Holden by 8:30 and spent the rest of the night wrapping B of M rice krispie treats (like the ones we made for Carson's baptism).  We also practiced the song "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" that the kids were singing for the baptism the next day.  We all got up early and got everyone ready to go and headed over to Fillmore for the Baptism at 10.  The baptism was great!  Uncle Larry did a talk on Baptism and Carson gave the talk on the Holy Ghost.  It was so cute to see him give the talk and he did a great job!!!!  I was so proud of him.  Papa baptized Austyn and Nicholas did the confirmation.  It was a great morning and we are all proud of Austyn and her decision to be baptized.

Halloween Piano Recital

My piano students had a Halloween Recital on Thursday, the 24th.  They all got to wear their Halloween costumes and they looked great!!  I was so proud of all of them and the progress they have all made since the last recital.  Even though I don't teach Carson (I trade Melissa for her boys) I asked him to be part of the recital as well.  His recital is THIS Wednesday.  He did great as well and I was so proud he got his songs memorized and did such a great job!  And since my students all dressed up, I figured I had better dress up to.  So I borrowed a Wonder Woman costume from a friend for the night.  We ended the recital with pumpkin brownies.  It was a great evening!

Crazy Hair Day!

Today was crazy hair day as part of Red Ribbon Week at school.  The kids were pretty excited to get to do their hair silly!  This is what we came up with.  Carson had a mohawk with blue paint and Kaylee had lots of pony tails and ribbons!  It was a fun day for them!  Monday, they wore red, and yesterday the theme was "Team up against Drugs", so Carson wore his BYU hoodie and Kaylee borrowed a Jazz basketball jersey from Carson to wear.  Tomorrow is silly hat/sock day and Friday is wear black.  I love that the school does such fun things for the kids!
