Week of fun!

One perk of the kids back in school is that I can work and run errands during the day and not feel guilty for leaving or ignoring the kids.  That includes getting my hair done!  I still go see my cute stylist, Heather, in Bountiful.  This time she hooked me up a great way to make my hair longer!  I got a Halo!  It is fun to wear sometimes to make my hair longer and thicker without the commitment of extensions.  I love it!
The first week of school was also the week we held parent meetings for Vocal Motion!  We had a great turn out and it made us so excited to get started the following week!

Kaylee used her own money to buy a cute onesie pajama and so now all the kids have their own onesie animal.  Haha!
The kids are loving riding their bikes to school and have almost every day since school started.
That weeked, we celebrated my dad's birthday with some yummy bbq at my parent's house with cousins!  We gave him a new extension chord and the famous bag of Almond Joys.

We also wanted to support local business and ate at Pizza Pie Cafe so we enjoyed dinner there one night!  Yum!  Their dessert pizza is the best!

Melissa sent me this cute pic of Alivia enjoying some playdoh during math time.  So glad she has Mrs. Chertudi as a teacher!

First Day of School! Finally!

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was for this day!  The first day of school!!!  It felt like a dream and I was so afraid it wasn't going to happen, so when they day arrived, I was thrilled.  And so were the kids!  They all looked adorable!  Kaylee leaves first in the morning, getting on the bus at 6:55.  However, that morning the bus was super early and it was a good thing I offered to drive her to the bus stop, cause at 6:49, we watched the bus pull away as we turned the corner.  So we followed it to the next stop so she could hop on!  It was crazy.  So after a call to the transportation department, they promised me the bus driver would wait until 6:55 to leave their stop like he is supposed to.

Carson had a first great day at Weber High!  I drop him off around 7:30 and about 2 hours after school started, I got a text that said "High School is so fun".  Haha!!

Then finally the two youngest kids go to school a little after 8 if they are walking or riding their bikes.  Preston is in 2nd grade and Alivia is in 4th this year.  They both have great teachers and they are so excited!

Getting ready to go back to school!

Carson bought some ramps to get his lawn mower on his trailer, and they work great!
We found just a few more outfits for Alivia for back to school!  She is so cute!!!  And so excited to finally be back in school!  All the kids are!  We also found Kaylee some last minute outfits at walmart, which were super cute!

On Monday, the day before school started, Kaylee and Kamree went to Orion to set up and decorate their locker.  It turned out adorable, thanks to Brita who supplied most of it.  I mean, they have a chandelier in their locker!!!!  Haha!

Nick took Alivia and Carson for a slushy for a last treat before school started.  It has been a LONG summer...haha!  So the kids are excited!  A few new things for this school year though, like they will be dismissed 45 minutes earlier than normal so teacher can also work with the kids that are doing school online.  They also have to wear a mask!  Which I personally find just ridiculous, but if that is what it takes to get them back to in-person learning, than I guess that is what we will do.  So when we picked out outfits, we also coordinated masks with them.  So crazy!  But it's 2020, so I guess it is what it is!  Just so glad to get back to a closer normal.

7th Grade Stomp

Kaylee was able to attend a super fun "7th Grade Back-to-school Stomp" that Brita had thrown for all of the cute 7th graders from Lomond View and Majestic.  Since they missed their 6th grade dance (stupid Covid) this was a great way to make up for it!  They had at least 150 kids attend and Kaylee said she had a blast.  They threw it because this is something that usually the PTA does at the school, but again, thanks to Covid, they weren't doing it.  So Brita threw it at their neighborhood park and it was perfect!  I also think it was a great way to start the school year off in such a fun way.  Since school started just a few days later, it made the kids realize that they really do have lots of friends and know a lot of people!  Here are some pictures that I snapped when I helped set up and take down.  So fun!!!!

Carson's First Mountain Bike Race

Carson had his first bike race at Powder Mountain with the Weber Mountain Bike Team on August 22nd.  The weather was warm, but not too bad at a high elevation.  Since there is Covid,  they only allowed one person per racer, but the coaches had an extra wrist band so both Nick and I were able to go.  It was really fun to watch him.   He did pretty good for his first race and didn't have any wrecks or problems with his bike.  So that was good!  It was a fun day spend with just Nick and Carson!  The other fun part of the race was we got to hang out with my cute friend Tiffany Ashby and her son, Kade, who races for Davis.  Both boys are in the same division so we were excited to get to spend time together cheering them on!
