First Day of Performance Academy!

After our boring Labor Day, we had a very exciting and busy week!  I had my first day of teaching Performance Academy on Tuesday, the 8th!  It went great!  I teach 3 classes, and have a total of 32 girls combined that I teach.  I think it will work out great.  The best part is that Kaylee & Alivia both get to take and it is just a perk that since I teach, I don't have to pay tuition for them!  The girls in my classes are so cute and I am excited to see how they do this semester!

On Thursday, we went with Alivia to her Preschool Back to School night.  She made a cute cut out of herself to show us that night and showed us all over her school.  She loves it there!

The kids are enjoying walking to school every morning with the McConkies.  I like it too!  After I sent them off to school on Friday, the little kids and I spent a few hours at Shady Lane Park with some friends.  It was a beautiful day and it was fun to let the kids play while us girls visited.

It was also September 11th.  I can't believe it has been 14 years!!  I remember that day like it was yesterday!

Our Labor Day!

It was a crazy weekend of moving, so it was so nice when my friend Paige invited us over for dinner on Sunday.  We had hamburgers and  hotdogs (with lots of yummy sides) and then finished the night off with some s'mores.  It was delicious!  The kids had a blast.  They have a fun back yard and Preston found a power wheels jeep he refused to share.  It was great getting to know their cute family better.  They also had another neighbor over and his wife was out of town, but she teaches Primary so I am slowly starting to get to know more people in our ward.

We spent Monday (Labor Day) doing more stuff around the house, unpacking more, organizing, and just boring stuff.  Preston climbed into bed with me that morning as I was leaving for a run (which I ran with Nick's cousins wife, Sara) and when I got back from my run, this is how I found him.  He was out!
I went to Lowe's that day and bought another curtain panel to match the ones I already had, and we got them hung up by the table.  I am pleased with how it looks!  I can't wait until my shutters get here for the front of the house and bedrooms.  We aren't putting anything in the big room windows yet.  I think we will leave them open for now.  The views are just to pretty to cover up!

That night, Sara Erling, brought us over lasagna and salad for dinner.  It was so nice and everyone gobbled it right up!

Finally our Moving Day!

We got up early on Friday, the 4th, and go the older kids off to school.  They were a little bummed that they weren't going to be there for the big move, but I promised them there would be plenty to do after school.  Nick met some guys from the ward at the storage unit at 8:30 and I made it there by 9 and by the time I got there, they already had a good amount of our stuff loaded into a few trailers and trucks.  With two total trips, a few trailers, trucks, and lots of helpers unloading it, we got the storage unit emptied by 11:30.  It was amazing!!  We got everything in the house, using the downstairs window as a great shortcut for everything thing that went into the basement.  We spent the rest of Friday and Saturday unpacking and putting beds together and figuring out where everything should go.

We did take a break on Saturday to attend Hallie's birthday party.  It was a little cool, but the kids didn't seem to mind!

We made it to church on Sunday, which was a lot quicker of a drive than what we had been used to!  It was nice!  After church, Karen had made it up from Holden to bring back the babies.  It was nice to have them gone, but it was nice to get them home again!  I was excited for them to see the house and show them their room!
It was a busy week and weekend, but it went very smooth since we had so much help.  So a big thank you to our parents, friends, and everyone that has been so welcoming and helpful during this move!  You are all amazing!

Closing Day!

We finally got the excavation done in the backyard of the new house so we were finally able to get a closing date on our bridge loan.  We set up the closing for Tues, Sept 1st and it funded on Wednesday with the hope we could move in shortly after that.  On Wednesday, I dropped the older kids off at school that morning and then we made our way down to Orem to meet up with Gma Karen and Papa to drop Preston off to them for the weekend while we move.  When we met them, Alivia had a come apart and bawled about how much she wanted to go to Gma's house too.  So after some contemplating, we all decided it was doable, even though I hadn't packed her anything!  Gma Karen was able to get her a few clothes and pj's on their way home.  Having both kids gone that weekend made it all go so smoothly and I was able to just stay focused on moving and not have to worry about the little ones.  Alivia did miss a day of preschool, but she didn't care.  She just wanted to go to Gma's house!
After I dropped them off, I made it back to pick up the kids and we headed back to the house to find that they were done with all of the cleaning.  Our plan was to epoxy the garage floor on Wednesday, but it was still too wet from them power washing it, so we made an impromptu decision to go pick up a load from my parents house and stay over that night in the new house.  It took just two hours to load up as much as we could and as much as we needed to stay that night.  We made it back to PV by 7 and with the help of some neighbors, we got it all moved in and situated enough for the night within just an hour or so.
It was kind of a mess, but we were so excited, we didn't care!!  Nick and I slept on the twin mattresses we had taken to my parents, and the kids slept on the floor.  It was a blast!!  They kept saying "I feel like we are at a hotel".  It was a great memory of our first night in the house!

The next morning, the kids were so excited to get to walk to school with the McConkie kids.  They have done great with that every day since!!

While they were at school Thursday, Nick and I did the garage floor and had it done just in time to clean up and make it to our final closing on our long term financing that afternoon.  We enjoyed the closing with our agent Chad Felter and our loan guy Paul Vaslet.  They have both been great to work with.

After the closing, since we were so close to Nat's house in South Ogden, we met up with her and their girls for dinner at Panda.  Matt was out of town in Wash DC, so it was a good excuse to hang out with them.  And since we didn't have the babies with us, it was even nicer!
It was a great day and we spent another night sleeping on the floor with the plan to do our big move from the storage unit the next day!  So exciting!

First days and the Zoo!

On Sunday, the 30th, we enjoyed church, a quick stop at the house, and then a dinner with family to celebrate my Dad's birthday.  Matt's family came and the kids made up a dance show and after dinner we got to watch all the kids dance in the garage for their 'show'.  It was a nice evening.

Right as we were going to bed that night, Kaylee came in to show me she had pulled out a tooth!  So the tooth fair came and visited her that night!  We got everyone to bed early since we had been driving to school from Tremonton every morning, which was SO hard!  But Grandma had her first day teaching Second Grade on Monday, the 31st.  We had fun taking her picture that morning!

Later that day, after dropping the kids off at school for their first FULL day of school, I took the two babies and we met up with Dawn and her kids at the zoo.  Kimberly (Dawn's twin sister and my friend) was also there and the kids totally loved playing with her (and hanging on her).  It was quite a warm day, but we had fun and it was a great way to pass the time until we picked up the kids that afternoon.

Tuesday was finally Alivia's first day of school!!  She was so excited!  She attends Sunshine Preschool, just three blocks down from our new house, and loves her teacher, Miss Brandi.  I am thrilled that we found this preschool!  She had a great day.  I had met with Laura to go over some Performance Academy stuff, so Nick was able to meet me early from work and take Alivia to school and pick her up for me, so I was a little sad I wasn't there for that part, but Nick said she did great and didn't hesitate one bit about going!  No surprise!

Lip Sync Ward Party

I am obviously behind!  Moving has been crazy and I can't wait to blog all about the move and everything that has been going on!  So I will start where I left off last time.  A few weeks ago, we had a ward party in Pleasant View on a Saturday evening.  It was SO MUCH FUN!  Probably one of the funnest ward parties we have been to.  They did a yummy pork sandwich dinner and then the best part was the lip sync portion.  All of the auxiliaries in the ward took a turn lip syncing to songs.  It was so fun to watch!  The Primary did a lip sync to a compilation of songs.  I don't even know how to explain it, but we did it a fun way using one persons arms while the other person lip synced and used their hands to be the feet.  It was hilarious!  We had so much fun and the best part of the night was when the Primary did a spontaneous performance of "The Miracle".  It was such an amazing night!
