More of the Fair!

Last Thursday, my mom was amazing and took the kids to school for me since she had to be at her school in Perry to work for the day getting ready for her first day of school next week.  She is teaching 2nd Grade this year and is very excited about it!  I was able to stay home and work on laundry, do some organizing to get ready to move, and just be home!  I worked on some flyers for Performance Academy to pass out at a few elementary schools in North Ogden area.  I have 23 girls signed up but would like 7 or so more to really make the classes full.  So I hope it helps!

 Nick got off work early and picked up the kids from school then spent a few hours on the trampoline ring before heading home to Tremonton.  We decided to go to the fair for dinner that night.  The kids had pizza and Nick and I shared a dutch oven plate and then a pulled pork nacho order.  Yum!  The nachos were the best!  We also enjoyed some scones and finished our night with some apple and peach pie ala mode!  We saw the animals, watched some sheep get sheared, looked around the 4H displays and listened to the music at the grand stand!  It was such a great night!

Fair Parade 2015

Tuesday after we got home from school, we got a delivery of our new bar stools!  I found a steal of a deal on these stools from Target.  I had 3 coupons I was able to use and spent less than $30 a stool.  I had budgeted about $70 a stool, so this made my day!  I was glad to see they matched what I wanted. The kids helped me put them together, they were that easy!

 We took the stools with us when we went to PV on Wednesday.  We made a quick stop at the house to see what they will look like.  For now, with little kids, they are perfect.

 We stopped at the tire store and costco before spending the rest of our morning hanging out with Natalie and her girls.

After school, we visited Nick at the house where he was putting together the trampoline.  We decided to put it in the ground so it is easy to mow around (which we won't even probably have grass there) and to make it safe.  Hopefully it is a good choice!

They are slowly getting the rocks set and we hope to close next Wednesday and start moving on Thursday.  Keep your fingers crossed!

 They also put the railing up on our porch.  It looks great!

 Wednesday night was the Fair Parade!  We had been looking forward to this and it was the one bonus of still living in Tremonton!  The weather was pleasant and we were able to find a good spot, even though we hadn't camped out or saved a spot earlier in the week.  Natalie and her sister Nicole and their kids joined us and we had a lot of fun and got a TON of candy!

We had wanted to go to the fair for dinner, but after the parade is always so busy and it was already almost 7 so we opted for a quick bag of burgers at Arctic Circle with Grandma & Grandpa.  Maybe not the yummiest choice, but it was fast and easy and the kids needed to get to bed for school the next day.  Overall it was a great day!

First Day of School 2015!

The day had finally come!  We were ALL excited for it!  The first day of school!  This  year of course was a little different because it was a new school for the kids.  They were probably a little more nervous than in years past, but they did great and were super excited!  We had a bit of a hectic morning though.  Home Depot was supposed to deliver our fridge between 8 and Noon, and at 6:45 I got a call saying they would be there in 30 Min!  I had missed the call while I was trying to get everyone ready for school so I called back and left them a message saying I wouldn't be there until 8.  On the way to school, I got a call from Nick saying he was at the house and they left the fridge on the porch because Nick didn't have a key so they could get it in the house.  It was a little crazy and Nick and I didn't agree on what they should have done with the fridge so it was a bit crazy trying to take the kids pictures.  I went extra early to make sure I could stop and take pictures on our new porch and with a Fridge on the porch it made it a little tricky, so this is what we came up with.  I really should have taken a picture of the kids with the fridge strapped to the porch column, but I was too mad to think straight.  I guess I expected when you spend that kind of money on fridge, the least they can do is deliver it when they say they are and install it for you.  

We got the kids dropped off at school and found the lines they were supposed to stand in to enter the school.  I love the excitement of the first day of school.  Everyone dressed in their new clothes, their hair done nicely, the smiles and nervousness on everyone's faces, including the parents!  It is a fun time of life!  I made it back to the house after dropping of the kids and Alivia insisted that I take her picture for the first day of school.

 The little kids and I spent the next 4 hours chilling at the house waiting for the internet guy to come and install our internet.  We also got a visit from Alivia's preschool teacher.  I had brought chicken nuggets for the kids and used the microwave so we could have lunch there.  Too bad we didn't have any chairs or stools to sit on, that would have made it more comfortable!

 Nick got home from work in time for us to pick up the kids from school.  It was early out all week, so they were done by 1:15.  We pick them up from the church parking lot next to the school.  Super easy!

We headed back up to the house so Nick could put the handles on the new fridge.  For a minute I could see a glimpse of what it will be like in our new house!

Appliances and Back to School Night!

Since becoming the Primary Chorister in our new ward, I have the task of learning all of the kids names in our primary.  Since it is a small primary, I am hoping it won't be too hard.  In our old ward we had a stick holder with names that made it really easy to ask for helpers and learn names.  So with my mom's help, we made one of them for our new ward.  I am so happy to have this!  It will make it so easy to pick on helpers while I am still learning names!  This is how it turned out!  

  Saturday, we headed to Pleasant View in the afternoon to go to the Stake Social.  We stopped on our way to check out the appliances that they had put in on Friday.  It looks like a real kitchen!!!

 We had a great time at the social.  They had yummy wraps!  Asian, American, and southwest.  It was a good change from normal hamburgers and hotdogs.  The kids had a blast playing at the carnival they had set up.  We visited with our friends, wardmembers, and met the stake president.  Lots of fun! Minus the breathing of the smokey air from all the forest fires in Washington and Idaho!

Sunday, we went to church, had a great "Back to School" Singing time, then enjoyed a nice picnic lunch at Harrsville Park before heading home.    

 Monday, we spent the morning getting caught up on laundry, chores, and getting ready to go to Back to School night.  Preston must have been really tired since I found him asleep on the couch just after lunch.  We made to back to school night and signed up for PTA, School Choir, ordered shirts, met the teachers, paid for lunch, and toured the school.  I think it made the kids really excited!  We stopped at Arby's for dinner on the way home.  We got home and got the kids into bed early, after their father's blessing, and we all slept like it was the night before Christmas!
