Meet Emery Kate!

Yesterday we enjoyed a nice day at church.  It was so cute watching Alivia during singing time.  She LOVES to sing and gets so animated.  I have been taking pictures of primary lately to put together a fun video for the kids to show them in a few weeks.  It will probably be my last sharing time.  

 After church, choir practice, and a quick lunch, we headed to Ogden to see our new niece that was born on May 5th.  We stopped at the lot on our way since we had heard they started framing.  It had rained so much over the weekend though that the whole basement was flooded with water!  I hope the rain doesn't slow them down too much this week.  We are so excited to see it get framed!

 We then visited Matt & Nat and finally got to snuggle their new baby girl!  She is just precious!  Her name is Emery Kate Brower.  Isn't that adorable?

We made it home in time to participate in the ward "walk-a-bout".  We enjoyed treats and visiting with neighbors.  My phone was dead so I didn't get any pictures!  But it was a lot of fun and a reminder of one of the many things we will miss about living in WX.  We finally had dinner around 8 PM....which wasn't really a dinner.  Maybe a before bedtime snack since everyone had filled up on treats from the walkabout.  Overall, it was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday.

Another RAINY Saturday!

That past two Saturdays have been SO rainy!  But that has given us a chance to get things done inside!  We finally finished the growth chart I wanted for Mother's day.  I couldn't find one to buy already made, so we attempted a few times to make one ourselves and finally made one that worked perfect!  I say WE, but Nick did most of the work!  We made one for my mom and Nick's mom as well.  

The kids watched probably too much tv over the weekend so I didn't mind moving the van out of the garage to let them play in it.  They had a blast and it was funny to walk out and see them wearing helmets eating popsicles.

 After Nick got home on Saturday, we headed down to Sandy to attend a dream home expo.  It wasn't as good as I was expecting, but we had free tickets and the kids enjoyed the bounce house display!

Since we were so close to Fazoli's, we stopped there for dinner.  We probably ate at least 2 dozen bread sticks ourselves!  Yum!

We got home and I gave Preston and Nick hair cuts before having a netflix night and going to bed early.  Rain sure puts a damper on things!  We can't wait to spend some time at Lagoon, but we prefer it to be a bit more sunny for that!  But so far this week is proving to be just as wet!

Root Beer Floats

Friday, Carson decided to celebrate his Summer Birthday for school.  He picked Root Beer Floats as his treat.  I found a friend to watch the two kids and I met him at his classroom after lunch and we served his treat to his class while they watched Shaun the Sheep for a party.  It was a lot of fun and it was nice to spend some time with Carson in his class.  On the way out, I stopped and said Hi to Kaylee as they were getting ready to leave for the day.  They had a PJ Ready party in their class and everyone had their pj's on, including Mrs. Thompson.  She is seriously the most amazing teacher and we have loved having her as Carson and Kaylee's 1st grade teacher.  We will sure miss her!!!

 After school, we made cookies, packed up my dresser and waited for dad to get home from work.  I enjoyed a few hours out with some friends at Rumbi to celebrate Rachel Youngberg's birthday which was Saturday.  It was a fun evening!  We did get a call that evening from Nick's mom telling us that Nick's dad, Ted, had fallen and hurt his hip.  They were worried that he broke it, so before bed, each of the kids said a special prayer for him that he would be ok.  Then we took a few pictures to text to him telling him we loved him.  It must have worked because the next morning we found out that he didn't break his hip and he was able to go to work okay.  It was a good teaching moment to let the kids know how prayer really can help!

Wonderful Wednesday!

I have been trying really hard lately to just enjoy my two little babies and do fun things with them so they aren't just watching tv all day long while I get things done.  Wednesday was a good day with the two little ones because we played a lot that day!  Preston and I hung out that morning while Livy was at school.  Alivia helped me make mac & cheese for lunch and we just think the 1/4 lbs sticks of butter are just adorable.  They are like little baby sticks of butter, but are the perfect size for making mac and cheese.  I just had to take a picture of my adorable Livy since I just couldn't get over how cute she looked that day.  I love her blue eyes and I think she is the sweetest little girl!  

 Since they were being so good that day, I decided to make a run down to the Orsen Gygi Cooking store to pick up some bigger bread bags to go with my new size loafs from my new pans I got for mother's day.  Since it was a nice day out and we were already half way there, we continued up to the zoo and spent just over an hour there walking around.  It was a super fun impromptu trip!  The kids loved it and were a little sad when we had to leave.  Since we have a big pass that allows quite a few additional people in, I found a few girls and their kids that were about to buy tickets and offered to let them in on my pass.  They seemed pretty surprised and excited about it and it made me feel good to offer something  like that.  I hope it made their day a bit better being able to go to the zoo for free!  Here are a few pictures from our afternoon.

 That night after piano and dinner, just the girls and I headed to our wards Mommy Daughter Ice Cream Social.  We of course had ice cream, made necklaces, took fun pictures, and visited.  Our friends Kalie and Ashlynn were also able to come with us and we all had a blast!  Can't you tell?

Activities like this make me quite sad that we are leaving this ward.  I have always said we can't imagine being any where else so this is going to be a hard move.  I know this is the right thing for us, but it still doesn't make it any easier!  So in the mean time we are still going to try and enjoy our friends and neighbors as much as we can before we leave!

Discovery, Storage, and Getting ready for Floors!

Last Monday morning, after lunch, I decided to take the younger kids to discovery gateway to get us out of the house for a few hours.  We brought along Alivia's friend, Abby, for the fun.  It was a lot of fun and the kids LOVED it.  It was a great afternoon and I liked that they didn't just spend the whole day watching tv!  Since I have been trying to organize, clean, and slowly get things packed, I have let the kids watch a lot more tv than they probably should.  So this was a good break from all of that!   

That night after piano, we had dinner and spent a little bit of FHE packing up the trailer with our first load to the storage unit in PV.  On Tuesday, it was school, preschool, talking time, piano, and a quick dinner.  Then we headed up to drop off a load to the storage unit and take a look at the house.  The kids did a great job helping us unload the trailer quickly.

At the house, we found that they had put in the gravel to get ready to pour the cement floors, which they did the very next day.  It looked really cool and it was fun for the kids to get to check it all out!

The kid's favorite part of going to the lot is playing in all the dirt and rocks that surround the house.  It is fun for them and annoying for me.  They get so dirty and I am always worried that they will get hurt.  But they are in heaven when we go up there!  It is so fun seeing the progress of this house and sharing that with our children.  We can't wait for it to be done!

Rain Rain Go Away!

It has been so rainy and stormy all last week and into the weekend, meaning we had to find things to entertain us inside.  On Friday, Preston discovered he likes puzzles!  He put together the train puzzle by himself.  (Ok, it was all in order in the box, but still...).  He then asked to do more and more puzzles.  So I grabbed the wooden ones out of Alivia's room and he spent a good 30 minutes doing them.  It was a great alternative to tv.  

 While he did puzzles and while Alivia played at a friends house, I started going through my closet.  I wanted to pack up all my 'winter' clothes and DI anything I don't wear.  I read an article online that talks about getting rid of your entire wardrobe and limiting it to just a few bottoms and tops that you LOVE to wear.  So I kept that in mind as I was going through everything and that helped me part with some items I have had for over 5 years or that I hadn't worn in the past 2.  It was refreshing!  I got a good amount of packing done but still need to do my dressers.

I tried to leave only the things I will take to my mom's house while we stay with her.  The saddest thing I had to part with was my beloved CEU sweatshirt.  I have had that for 15 years.  I wore it so much!  Painted in it, slept in it, just wore it to shreds almost!  It was so sad looking that I just had to finally part with it.   Friday evening, Nick and I went out on a date to Zupa's and to see the movie "Hot Pursuit".  It was a nice date!  Nick worked Saturday, so I left Carson in charge while I went and watched my friend Dawn compete in the Splash N' Sprint Triathlon.  I had helped her get some swimming technics down and I was excited to watch how she did.  She did amazing!  The weather was horrible though.  It just rained and rained and was really chilly.  I was so proud of her though, and thankful I wasn't doing one in the rain!

 After Nick got home from work, our family helped a few other families clean the church.  The kids thought it was a blast!  I am sad I didn't even think to take any pictures!  We then had potato soup and scones for dinner followed by a movie night complete with popcorn.  We watched "Paddington".  It was a super cute movie and the kids loved it!  Nick and I did too!

 Yesterday was a very nice day!  It was Mother's Day and the rain had finally gone away!  The only thing I would have changed was being able to sleep in!  With 9 O'clock church, that makes it hard!  But we all made it to church and the primary kids sang in Sacrament Meeting.  We got all the oven mitts passed out that we had been working on the past few weeks as gifts for the kid's moms.

I was also spoiled!  I got my oven mitt from the kids, a frame from Alivia, a lady bug broach from Kaylee, paper flowers from Carson, and new bread pans from everyone.  Nick is also working on making me a growth chart to use in the new house.  

We were lucky enough to have my mom and dad come down for dinner, Ham and Funeral Potatoes.  We had yummy apple cobbler for dessert.  It was a lot of fun and again, didn't take one picture!  But I sure am thankful for my parents and all they do for us.  I am grateful that they are going to let us live with them for a few months while our house is being finished.  I think it will make for a fun summer for our family!

Just a little back fill....

Just a quick house update.  Nick stopped by on his way to Tremonton on Thursday to help with Tiff's house again.  They at least started to back fill the foundation and cut out some more dirt on the lot.  I think they finished more on Friday, but we haven't been up to see it yet.  We hope this week they will pour the floors in the basement and garage.  Then they can start framing!  Yipee!!!  That is what we are most excited about.  We can't wait to finally be able to walk through the house!!  Fingers crossed that will happen soon!
