Conference in Holden

We headed down to Holden Saturday afternoon after Nick worked a half a day.  We decided to go through Tooele, since Utah county had some major road construction delays, so we were able to drive through Delta before going to Holden and visit Grandma and Grandpa Pace.  It was fun to visit with them.  She made some yummy chocolate chip bars for us to eat!  They were GOOD!  We made it to Holden in time for dinner and some play time with the cousins.  On Sunday, we woke up and mostly lounged in our pj's and watched conference.  I made conference cakes down there since it is a fun tradition and Carson requested them again this year.  After conference we enjoyed a wonderful Dutch Oven dinner with everyone.  It is a favorite dish of mine and I know I wasn't the only one who enjoyed it!

 Later that night, Gma Karen and Dad helped the kids decorate Easter eggs.  They turned out great!

 Alivia had a rough Saturday night and had a bit of a fever, but she still was pretty happy and loved walking around and playing on the three big stairs by the kitchen.

The kids enjoyed spending time and have sleepovers with the cousins.  They also enjoyed some story time with Grandma and we did a fun FHE on Monday night with them too.  We ended up coming up Tues morning instead of that night because Alivia wasn't feeling any better and we wanted to get her in to see the Dr.  We took her when we got back home and she does have an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection that is minor.  We have a Rx and we have started using a humidifier in her room and even since yesterday she is doing MUCH better.  We went to the park today for lunch and some play time and all the kids seem to be feeling great!

Carson's Art Project

Last week, Carson did a fun art project at school.  The next night, he wanted to show us how to do it and do it as a family.  So he told me what we needed, and we had everything, including yard, paint, and paper.  You put the yarn in your paint, on a plate and use a spoon to get it all covered in paint.  Then you take your paper and fold it long ways and put the wet yarn on the paper in whatever pattern and fold the paper in half on top of the yard leaving a clean end of the yard out of the paper.  You pull the yard out and open the paper up and whoola!  You have a fun design on your paper!

You can use different colors and do it as many times as you want!  It was pretty cool and Carson did a great job teaching us how to make them!

Like a Monkey!

Alivia must not have any fear!  She is such a little climber and climbs on EVERYTHING!  The dishwasher, step stools, the couch, little chairs, the stairs, and she loves to climb on this little toy box we have in the tv room.  She will spend quite a bit of time climbing up and down, then standing up then climbing back down again.  Here are some pictures of our crazy little girl!

She thinks she is so smart and so proud of her self when she gets to the top.  She will turn around and smile at me like "Look what I just did mom!".  She fell down the stairs on Saturday morning though, the first time, and hopefully the last.  We didn't have the gate up and she is usually pretty good about turning around and going down on her belly, but Nick said he came down the hallway just in time to see her step off the step like a 'big girl' and tumble all the way down.  I heard it, since I was downstairs using the printer.  She cried a bit then acted just fine.  And it hasn't scared her away from the stairs.  Just this morning she was climbing up and down them again, but on her tummy this time.  I guess that is how you learn, right?

Artist Kaylee

Kaylee is always keeping herself busy with paper.  She loves to write on it, color it with crayons and markers, cut it, and paint on it.  Last week she did a great job spending the morning doing some painting.  I took some pictures of her amazing art work.

 She has also been wanting "Paint Cupcakes".  We saw them at kid to kid last month and I told her if she saves her money she can go buy them sometime.  So she has been working hard to earn money so she can buy her "Paint Cupcakes".  She finally had enough money, so I took her back to the store so she could buy it.  It is just a ceramic cupcake bank that you paint using the paints that come with it.  That afternoon she painted it all buy herself!  It turned out fun!

 On Tuesday at school, she made this really cute Easter chick.  It is a plastic cup covered in yellow feathers.  Fun, huh!?!

She can be quite silly, including during lunch time.  Eating her ramen noodles that day was no exception.  She had a bit of a cold, and Wednesday night she was up several times complaining that her ears hurt.  So Nick took her to the dr's on Thursday and sure enough, she had double ear infections.  So we started her on some medicine.  I am hoping that it all clears up soon!  But it didn't slow her down much, she was still out and about when it was sunny and didn't miss a beat, other than missing school on Thursday!

Pictures

We enjoyed the warmer weather over the weekend, even if it was a little windy.  Alivia LOVES the swing on the swing set.  She will sit in it for an hour as long as some one is pushing her.  She is still taking a few steps at a time walking, but still isn't full out walking.  Any day now I think she will just take off!  Nick helped a friend with his van brakes, so I had to take a picture of him doing the thing he loves the most.  Getting greasy and dirty!  I also took some pictures of the kids on Sunday before leaving for church.  I put the girls in some matching dressed I found at Target.  They looked super cute!  And Carson picked out his own church clothes and I thought he looked super handsome.  He also took advantage again on Sunday and shared his testimony.  (It was Fast Sunday since next week is GC).  He did a great job, and I was so proud of him.  And again, it was all his doing and his decision.  It is so fun to see him getting bigger!  The other pictures were taken after church while we were watching Alivia's first year dvd I finally finished.  With pictures and videos it ended up being just over 2 hours long.  It took me forever, but I am glad I put it together.  Now to start working on one for the other kids.  Better later than never, right?  Enjoy the pictures!

One more thing.  I was sad I didn't get any pictures of Saturday.  You see, my mom and I went and saw the movie "Hunger Games" which opened this past weekend.  Afterwards we stopped at Kohls, I needed to get some more hand towels and Carson needed a new pair of pants.  On my way out to my car I saw my cousin Melanie Huffaker and her family.  They are here on their spring break from Nevada visiting their inlaws.  So I invited them over to our house to visit for awhile, since my mom was going to be going there for dinner too.  It was SO fun to visit with them for a bit before they headed up to Ogden.  I just can't believe I didn't get any pictures of them and their cute kids.  But it was super fun, and I hope to see them again soon!

Jump Jump!!!

A few years ago, we bought a used trampoline off of KSL Classifieds.  It did great until finally last summer it ripped.  It was old and didn't have an enclosure or mats.  So we decided to get a new trampoline for the kids as part of their Easter presents.  We were going to wait to put it up at Easter, but since the weather was supposed to warm up, we figured we might as well put it up now!  The kids were excited when we finally showed them what we were keeping in the back of daddy's truck!  (It had been there a few weeks!).  

 They were both super excited to help set it up.  Even Kaylee's friend, Makenna, was over and offered to help!

 We weren't sure if we wanted the enclosure, but with the feedback we got on FB about it and the fact that the one we found for the best price, came with the enclosure we thought we would give it a try.  So we will see how long it lasts.  When I was little, we didn't need mats or an enclosure and we survived just fine! But I can also see how it could be helpful to have.  I am just happy to have a new tramp.  I just wish mother nature would make up its mind on having warm weather.  It has been so cold and then warm, and then back to cold that it is driving me crazy!  Can't wait for summer!

More Treehouse Fun!

Last Monday, Nick was able to come home from work early so we took the kids to Treehouse museum.  The kids didn't have school since it was a teacher prep day.  Carson took his friend Connor from school, and they had a good time.  We made it up there around 1:30, and when we got there we found out it closes at 3 on Mondays.  (Good to know from now on!).  So we didn't have a ton of time to play, but we were able to enjoy some singing story time and then the kids had time to still play and make some paper crafts. 

We stopped and said hi to Natalie and her girls before leaving Ogden.  It was a fun way to spend the day off from school.  Connor's mom sent us with some really yummy rice krispy treats and they were SO good, I just had to make more that night for FHE.  It made me realize how much I like those!  It will be fun to have the pass to the museum for the next year, the kids really like it there!
