Bennett Family Lagoon Day!

Yesterday we had a great day at Lagoon with Nick's side of the family. We met them at Lagoon around Noon and we could tell right away ALL the kids were super excited to be there! Carson and Austyn were so cute together!!! They held hands walking from the parking lot to the front gate.
My nephew Chase turned 4 the day before, so after eating lunch we celebrated his Birthday with some brownies and some gifts. I love Savannah's expression in this picture!
Uncle Ryan and Carson.
Kaylee and Sam McCall enjoying a brownie!
After lunch it was off to ride TONS of rides!!! While the bigger kids rode the Bat, I took the 3 little ones with me to Bulgy the Whale. This is one of Kaylee's favorites!!!
I couldn't talk Sam McCall into getting in a whale with his sister Savannah, so he chilled in the stroller with a big bottom lip sticking out, it was really cute!
It was always so cute to watch the kids wait in line. The did so great being with each other and it was fun to see them enjoying themselves!!! Here is Austyn, Savannah, Kaylee, Chase, and Carson posing for the camera.
Here are some more fun picture from the day.
We had so much fun taking all the kids on rides. Even us adults got in a few BIG rides while we were there. I had to leave around 5 to get back home and go to Bells Rehearsal, which made me so sad that I had to leave all the fun! I guess while I was gone they managed to ride the BAT a handful of times consecutively and get rained on long enough to make everyone leave the park and so they were able to walk onto all the kiddie rides without waiting! They played and played until about 9:30. The kids played SO hard that when they finally hit the pillow they were OUT pretty fast! It really was a great day and a great memory for our family!
Thanks Papa Bear and Grandma Karen for a FUN FUN FUN Day!!! We all had a blast! We can't wait to do it again!!!!!

Like Father....Like Son

A week ago or so I walked outside to find Carson doing this.....
It made me smile!!! Using dad's jack, he lifted up his four wheeler so he could 'work' on it.
He said there was on oil leak! Oh, Carson....I think you are turning out to be just like your dad! And that is a GOOD thing!!!!
Of course Kaylee was up to her normal self and exploring things around the garage too. She spent quite awhile climbing up and down this ladder. Needless to say, there is WAY too much stuff in the garage for the kids to play with that probably aren't classified as "kid" toys. BUT, until we get a shed, it makes for a great toy room during the summer!

Finally warm enough for this...

A WATER PARTY!!!!
We invited a few neighbors over this morning to help us break in the new pool we got. We also enjoyed the slip n' slide, kiddie pool and trampoline (with a sprinkler underneath!). While the kids played the girls soaked up the sun (at least on our legs).
We had at least 17 kids in the backyard between the 8 families that came to the party!
Carson was having a blast with all of his friends and just enjoying being outside in the sun!
The kids took a break from the water long enough to have an otter pop! What a classic summertime treat!
Even our cute neighbor Naomi got in on the otter pop action....isn't she adorable??
We are so excited for this summer! We got our Lagoon Season Passes on Saturday and spent a few hours there Saturday night. Kaylee is barely tall enough (36 inches) to finally go on all the rides Carson can go on, so this summer should be a blast! We wanted to go tonight, but after a hot day, a summer storm lost it's way and it found us and it rained a bit tonight, so we stayed home and made muddy buddies instead! But we are excited to go to Lagoon on Wednesday with Nick's whole family. And we are also excited to have more water parties and bbq's as the summer goes on!!!

Fishin' in Flaming Gorge!

Since my little brother Chris is leaving on a mission soon, they guys decided they had better take advantage of the time and do a little fishing and camping. Nick and Carson along with Chris and my Dad left Monday afternoon to Flaming Gorge (The Utah Side). I was a little nervous having Carson go with them, since he is still so little to go on such a big camping trip, but I knew there would be no way I could keep him home! And after seeing the pictures and hearing how good he did I was so glad that he was able to go! I was also very pleased with all the pictures that were taken! Here are some great pictures of their trip!
This is where they set up camp. They weren't at a campground, but just an open spot that is used quite often by other campers. This is probably why they didn't invite me to go since I would need at least running water and toilets and that wasn't available here!
When I first saw this picture it made me laugh since it looks like they are all peeing or something like that. But if you look close Chris and Nick are wearing RJP sweatshirts, which is where my Brother Matt used to work and they got them from him, and since he wasn't able to go, they paid him a tribute by taking this picture to prove that he was still there with them in spirit! I also believe that Carson wore an RJP Beanie on his head most of the time too.
Here is Carson roasting hot dogs for dinner Monday night.
They even took stuff to make smore's!! Yum!!
Now for the fishing!!! They did TONS of fishing and caught quite a few. They mostly did catch and release, but one of the fish swallowed the hook and they couldn't get it out of him without killing it, so they ended up cooking and eating one of the fish.
More Fishing!!!
Carson loved to be around the camp fire!!! It looks like my dad was trying to dry out his socks in this picture....he must of gotten too close to the water that day!
They did a lot of walking and hiking to find good fishing spots, and also drove up the mountain to find more.
There was only one time Carson ended up in the water. He was fishing next to my dad and had accidentally stepped into the stream and it went up to his waste. He didn't complain about falling in the water until he got out and realized how cold he was. But Nick took him back to the tent and got him changed into some new clothes and he was right back out fishing again!
I love this picture of Carson and his FISH!!!!
Chris grilled the fish over the fire like a marshmallow! I asked Carson if he ate it and he said "No, I don't like the taste of fish!".
On Tuesday night my dad made tinfoil dinners. I was impressed of how well they planned for the trip considering have fast they planned it and it was just guys going! But I guess they have done a lot of camping in their days so this was like second nature to them!
This picture is a bit blurry, but I thought it was neat that they saw moose while they were there!
Besides seeing moose, they also saw a lot of snow!!!
They cleaned up camp on Wednesday morning and headed home around 11 AM. Carson told Nick he didn't want to go home and was very sad they had to leave! So obviously he had a blast! They loaded up the van and Carson enjoyed Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the whole way home. They made it home around 4 and even stopped and took the van through the car wash before coming home. I was so excited to have the boys home again! I really missed them. It was so fun to look through the pictures and have Carson explain to me what the picture was and what they did. I am so glad that the boys were able to go on this camping trip. I am sure it created some great memories for all of them!

Many Faces of Kaylee

With the boys gone camping and fishing, Kaylee and I have had some fun girl time! We went for ice cream today after Kaylee finally pooped in the potty and NOT in her pull up! Then did some shopping at Kid to Kid. She asked me to paint her fingernails, the second time in a week. We painted them RED and she thought they were 'pretty'. We played the piano and sang songs. We danced and exercised together. We did some cleaning and some laundry. We read books....our favorite so far "We're going on a Bear Hunt!". We have had a few moments of frustration since she is still having a hard time remembering to go potty in the toilet and NOT her pullup. She is also is very independent and wants to do everything herself. So if I flush the toilet or get out a bowl when she wanted to do it herself she will throw a fit until I let her do it herself. She pushes my buttons and she tests my patience, but she has a way of being SO stinkin' cute that you still gotta love her!! And it has been so enjoyable to spend one on one time with her and giving her my full attention. She has such a BIG personality and I can't wait to see how much more fun she will get as time goes by! So I wanted to share the pictures I found of her that we have taken recently just to show you how fun this little girl of ours is!
Kaylee is our little lightning bug who keeps us on our toes and keeps us smiling! I know she was meant to be part of our family! We love you boo!!!
