Last Friday we woke up to a beautiful sunrise over the lake. I was able to go for a 4 mile run and it was beautiful! I love running in new places and the weather was cool enough to make it even more enjoyable! When we got back we had breakfast and got ready to go to Minnetonka Cave. It is was about a 40 minute drive into Idaho and up St. Charles canyon and when we got up there at 10, they were selling tickets for the 11:30 tour. We had planned on going on the 10 or 10:30 tour, so we weren't prepared to stay for an extra our or two since we didn't bring a lunch. While we were talking about what to do, they started selling tickets to the 12:00 tour, which sealed the deal of us deciding to go back to the lake and play and try again Saturday to go through the cave.
I did take a quick picture while we were there in case we didn't come back. We got back to camp and loaded up the boat for another fun day on the lake. The Sonerholms got a chance to boat while we played on the shore. We got a chance to do some boating again, but mostly tubing and the kids loved it. Nick took the kids, including Preston, and did great until somehow the tube was flooded and they all fell off the drowned tube. Preston didn't like that too much, but thank goodness for life jackets!
By the time we got back to camp, the Pugmires were there and playing in the water. We made dutch oven chicken and potatoes for dinner. It was YUMMY!!!
When we just started dinner, a cowboy and his horse came up to our camp to tell us about the rodeo they were having on Saturday. He offered to let the kids get on the horse for a picture. He was really nice, and unfortunately, we just didn't have time to make it to the rodeo.
After dinner, we hung out and visited and had a little dance party before starting our lip sync show. Each family did a lip sync to a different song. We had chosen happy, but Carson and Kaylee did their own skits instead. They did a scene from Despicable Me 2 and then a Oooh la la la song they made up using beach towels as hula skirts. Mom and Dad sang "I got you babe" (Sonny and Cher). The pugmires did a compilation of songs and so did the Sonerholms. Matt sang "Love is an open door" with Hallie and Gracie. It was all so much fun. To top it off, Chris did a Weird Al Yakovich song "Albuquerque". It was over 11 minutes long but it was so entertaining! I love my crazy fun family!
