Kaylee's Summer Dance Recital

Last night, Kaylee had her recital for Performance Academy.  She did great!!!  She was so exicted for it.  Not only because she got to perform, but because she got to wear her costume and wear makeup!  She is such a girl!!!  She looked super cute all ready to perform.  It was held at Davis High school.  Grandma and Grandpa Brower even came to watch her dance.  It was great.  

 As we waited for the recital to start, Livy had fun playing with Gma Joy.  Alivia was so funny the whole time. She loved the music and would clap and waver her hands when the music would come on.  It was cute!

 Kaylee sang 5 songs, and did dances to three of them.  The first was "Tonight, Tonight" with the whole group.  She is the cute little one in the middle.

 Then she sang a solo in "Tomorrow" from Annie.  Then did a dance and song to "Never fully dressed without a smile".  It was cute!

 Then they sang and danced to "Here we go!".

 Finally, the whole group sang a song called "Hero".  I always hear her singing this one around the house.  It was fun to hear her sing it to the music with the group.

 She did awesome.  She is funny to watch since she is the smallest (and youngest) one in the whole group.  She needs to work on looking forward more when dancing and not just looking at the girls around her.  But I think for a four year old she does such a great job!  I was a proud mommy last night!

 She loves her teacher Lauren.  She is a cute girl!

The recital didn't start until 7:30, and so by the time we were done it was past 8:30 and past our bedtime when we got home.  It didn't take long to get the kids all in bed.  They were exhausted!  But it was such a fun night!  She gets to perform one more time in a few weeks at a retirement home, so that will be fun to watch too!

A Book, A Shelf, and cute girl!

On Sunday, after church, we had a relaxing day and Uncle Ryan had stayed and spent the day with us too.  He was reading his book a loud to Kaylee.  I could hear him from in the kitchen.  I went in after a bit to see how they were doing, and I found Ryan still reading a loud, but Kaylee completely asleep.  It was so funny!  

 Nick and Uncle Ryan were able to put up the shelf to finish off the wallpaper we put up last month.  Originally we were going to just do a trim piece, but I had mentioned I wanted a shelf of some type, and Uncle Ryan helped Nick to figure out how make it a shelf and not just trim.  It turned out great and I am excited to decorate that wall now!

 Alivia was just chillin' while they put it up.  It didn't take them long.  She likes to just play, especially with stools, step stools, and the boxes of noodles out of the pantry.

She is such a cutie and keeps us smiling!!

Concrete Time!!!

Nick has been working so hard the past 3 weeks getting the backyard ready to pour concrete.  Since he did all the grunt work getting it ready himself, rather than hiring it out, so we decided to pay for a pump truck to help pour the cement so we didn't have use wheelbarrows.  It was totally worth it!  Not only because it made it easier, but because Carson was totally excited and entertained by it too!!  We had Uncle Ryan and Uncle Matt there to help us out with the concrete, along with some great neighbors Ike, Dave, and Dan.  The rest of us (wives and kids) enjoyed some yummy donuts and watched as they did all the work.

 Once they got it all poured, Matt and Ryan went to work doing the finish work on the concrete.

We were all done by about noon.  Now it was time to just let it dry.  We all went to Arby's for lunch and then just relaxed the rest of the afternoon and Nick and Uncle Ryan went to Harbor Freight for fun.  We had yummy steak tinfoil dinners we grilled on the grill for dinner.  Then we went to Home Depot and got some molding to make the shelf for the family room.  They got it all painted that night.  It was nice having Ryan there to help out.  Overall it was a very productive day!  I realized June 9th is also an expensive day.  This year we put in concrete and a year ago that day I had eye lasik surgery.  Crazy, huh?  I am so glad that this part is over....it was very messy and a lot of work for Nick.  Now we just need to eventually build a shed on it and just enjoy it!

Splash'n at the Splash Pad

On Friday, I took the kids to the splash pad in Foxborrow to enjoy the warm weather.  It was a bit breezy, but it was still fun.  We went with our Friends Deb, Ethan, and Emery.  I didn't get a picture of it, but Alivia LOVED the water.  Once she got used to it, she would run in and out and around the fountains and just laugh and laugh.  It was SO stinkin' cute! 

 They have a fun playground next to the splash pad that the kids ended up playing on longer than playing in the water.  Carson was excited to show me how he can go clear across the monkey bars.

 After we got home, we had planned on playing in the water some more.  While I was inside talking with Deb and cutting up some watermelon, Carson came in crying and holding his nose.  I guess he did a somersault of the trampoline and landed on his face making his nose bleed.  And I mean bleed!!  It took quite a bit to get it to stop.  Once I got him calmed down and some frozen peas on his nose, it finally stopped.  But the whole episode wore Carson out, and he laid down and took a nap for almost an hour.  Needless to say, our water party ended there and we just relaxed the rest of the day.

Treehouse Fun

Last Thursday, we thought we would go to the Treehouse museum in Ogden and hang out for a bit during the day.  We picked dad up from work on the way up there so he could come and play with us.  Here are a few pictures from our fun!

 Nick is such a fun dad and was willing to play with the kids and make it super fun for them!

 We also got to go visit Gpa Brower at Costco that day for some ice cream and a churro.  He was there doing a trade show for camping gear.  So he took his lunch break when we came so we could visit with him.  The kids thought it was pretty neat to see him!
