Day to day....

We have had a great week! It has been nice to get back to normal after the holidays! Carson and Kaylee went back to school after a two week Holiday break. They were both excited to get to go again! Kaylee also started dance class again. We also have been enjoying just hanging out and playing with our new toys and games we got for Christmas. Kaylee has also been such a big girl and is officially wearing big girl underwear 24/7!!!! So, with that, we have eaten a lot of ice cream in celebration. So the other night we made a batch of brownies to go with our ice cream! Kaylee was a big help, and just like me, her favorite part is licking the bowl when we are done! She was so cute, so I had to take some pictures!
While we made brownies, Carson was using his new art projector set. This has been so fun for him! He is able to trace pictures and draw pictures with markers. Both kids have really liked it and it has helped Carson get really good at making straight lines and coloring within the lines.
While Carson is at school, it gives Kaylee and I time to hang out and just be silly! This is Kaylee pretending that she couldn't walk, and was scooting all over the floor. She was being so silly! I love that side of her!! She is always finding ways to make us laugh and has quite an imagination that can keep her and us entertained for a bit!
They are both the biggest helpers too! On Wednesday, we got a few items at the case lot sale and they were both eager to help dad put it all away in the pantry. It also gave us a chance to do a bit of organization to help keep the pantry neat and tidy. You know how it is when you are in a hurry and you just put things away where ever and eventually your pantry/cupboards become so unorganized it is just a mess! So, we spent a few extra minutes making our pantry a bit more tidy and it has been so nice! I just hope we can do a better job keeping it that way!
It seems like my kids are the silliest right before bed, which is better than being mean and ornery!
Kaylee thinks she is a little monkey!!! (Yes, she is even wearing monkey pj's!!!) Again, with being silly. I took these today and Kaylee was trying to pull 'funny' faces for the camera, then she wanted to see them on the camera so she could try and out do her self with the next picture. it was hilarious!!!

It makes me sad that they are getting so big so fast, but I am thoroughly enjoying every moment of this time with them. My favorite thing to do is give them hugs and kisses before bedtime and to tell them how much I love them! Being a parent really is the best and most important thing in life!!! No amount of money or fame could ever compare to the love a family shares!!! I'm so glad that I get to do this forever......

Work Work Work

As I mentioned earlier, we have been working hard getting things organized and cleaned out of the storage room so we can finish it and make it Carson's new bedroom. We spent hours going through totes of baby clothes, frames, old home decorations, and boxes from when Nick and I were kids. I was able to condense them down quite a bit and we took quite a load to the DI and also to the garbage. It is amazing how easy you collect STUFF. Nick put an attic ladder in the garage and we now have a 20 by 12 foot room above the garage that we can store our Christmas and other stuff in. That helped clean out the storage room quite a bit. The kids enjoyed playing around while we organized.
Once it was all cleaned out we got to work framing and sheet rocking. My brother Matt was kind enough to come down Friday to give Nick a hand! Isn't he awesome?!?!
On our way home from Tremonton, we stopped in Ogden and picked up Matt and he came and helped some more yesterday. While the boys worked, the kids and I kept busy organizing paperwork and shredding the paperwork we didn't need anymore. They love helping me with that, and don't worry I was supervising them the whole time they were using the paper shredder. During the afternoon, Kaylee proved once again how much of a big girl she is by pooping in the toilet, not once, but twice! So we stopped and had an ice cream break to celebrate her accomplishments!
The boys continued to work while the kids and I entertained Hallie and Natalie who came to have dinner with us.
They got a lot done! Most of the sheet rock has been hung and so the next step is mud and tape, paint, and then carpet & finish work. Hopefully it won't be too much longer because the amount of sheet rock dust in my house is driving me crazy! I am just glad to know this is the last of the house that needs to be finished. And unless we do a remodel, there should never be a need to do construction in the house again! Whew! We only have a couple of months before the baby gets here and I have a list a mile long of things I would like to have done before she gets here. This is the biggest of those items, so it makes me very happy to have it progressing so well! Thanks again Matt for all your help, and especially to Nick who works his tail off to keep me happy! I love you!

Happy New Year!!!!

We have been pretty busy this past week working in the basement trying to clean out the storage room and organize all of the totes so we could get started on finishing the final downstairs bedroom and laundry room. Nick, with Matt's help, spent Thursday & Friday working on the basement, framing and sheet rocking, but did take a break to come with us to Tremonton to ring in the New Year on Friday afternoon. When we got there the kids were making hats and noise makers for the party that night. Even Kaylee made her own.
Mom & Marisa.
Mayci & Justin, just hanging out!
Cute Aunt Natalie.
Kaylee & Hallie.
Marisa, Matt, and Natalie.
Grandpa Brower.
Both preggo's....Brittany & Marisa.
I am 28 weeks in this picture and Marisa is 24 weeks. I am having a girl and she is having a boy. It is so fun to be pregnant together! This is the 2nd time around we have done it at the same time!
Grandma made yummy potato soup and scones for dinner. It was delish!!!Justin & Marisa.
Cute Carson!
Getting ready to eat!!!
Grandma & Hallie. We played a really fun candy bar game that night with everyone. Before we got started, Hallie was so cute playing with and in the pile of candy!
We each got a turn to roll and if we rolled a 7, 11, or doubles, we got to pick a candy bar. But if someone else won a turn, they could take our candy bar or one out of the pile. The Sourpatch warheads seemed to be the item of choice between the younger kids and it got switched around quite a bit.
It came down to Kenzie & Austin. She had them, and Austin had one more roll to try and take them back from her.
Luckily for Kenzie, Austin didn't succeed and she got to keep them! She was just a little excited about it!
Carson enjoyed his Reases PB Cups. I was hoping he would share with me!
Then Braydon got out his toy helicopter, which kept most everyone entertained for awhile, especially the boys.
Kaylee & Mayci had gotten cute pj's from Grandma for Christmas, so it was fun to see them matching.
Of course, after the photo shoot, they wanted to check out how they looked!
After we all got our comfy pj's on, we played some cards, ate more food, and then we headed downstairs and did pedicures for everyone. The kids LOVED it!
It was a GREAT way to pass the time while we waited for the countdown to midnight. Even the kids gave us moms and grandma a pedicure.
As it got closer to Midnight (EST), the kids got all ready for the big celebration.
We counted down with Carson Daly LIVE in New York and watched the ball drop. Then the kids made plenty of noise to celebrate!
After the party, it didn't take us long to all get to bed (by 10:45 MST). We stayed the night at my parents then drove home early in the morning. It was a fun night with my family and I am so glad we were able to spend time with them! Here's to 2011, let's make it a good one!!!
