October Fun!

I can't believe that October is here, and it is almost half way over!!!! We have done a lot of fun things so far this month. One of the things that we have been doing is getting costumes put together for Halloween. Carson has asked to be a cowboy, so after finally caving in and buying him (and Kaylee) the cutest boots, I think the look is almost complete! I might just have Kaylee be a Cowgirl instead of a lady bug. I originally found a lady bug costume for her at the DI, so we will have to see what we end up doing. Yesterday I had them try on their outfits to see how they looked.

Carson loves his Boots!!! They are so fun! I think he will enjoy wearing them ALL the time, and not just for Halloween! Last weekend, while Nick worked OT, me and the kids headed down to Cedar City with my Parents to watch Chris run. He runs for UVU and this was their closest meet, so we wanted to make sure we got a chance to see him run this year. We drove to Beaver on Friday, and stayed in a hotel, then got up SUPER early to make it to Cedar in time to watch him run. Brrrrr....it was SO cold!! But once the sun came out it got a little warmer!
We snuggled the kids in blankets as best as we could......
But it didn't take them long to figure out that if they kept moving they would still stay warm!
Chris ran a pretty good race. He said he was a bit tired since they have been training so hard, but he still took 6th on the team, and was the top freshman to finish. I am so proud of him!

My kids had such a fun time staying in a hotel...we were a little sad since the hot tub was not open, so we couldn't swim. Thanks grandma & grandpa for the fun weekend!!!!

Our Family Pictures

On Sunday, after church, we headed to Wheeler Farms in SLC to take family pictures. I am sure most moms will agree that arranging to have pictures taken can be very stressful. From picking out outfits, finding a place to take them, hoping for perfect weather, having clean & happy kids, to a willing husband to play along, it can be a lot of work! I have two great friends who are great photographers who helped take the pictures and then I edited them. I think they turned out great, and I was so pleased with all of the aboved mentioned issues! I am just glad that we have them done, and I don't have to think about them for another year! Here are just a FEW so far of what we took...

This one is a close up of the one above...I just thought it was nice for mother nature to play along with the wind in the hair look!

So besides taking pictures at Wheeler Farm, the kids loved it there! It is an actual FARM...with pigs, cows, ducks, and other animals! What a fun place. We want to go back for a FHE sometime. I had never been there before so it was fun for all of us. Thanks again Katie & Jana for all your help! You are the best!

Frightmares!!

This past summer we have really enjoyed having season passes to Lagoon. We went a few dozen times and the kids just love the rides! Now that it is a little cooler and school has started the end of the Lagoon season is almost here. But right now they have Frightmares, so they are only open on the weekends. They were also open over UEA weekend, so on Friday we decided to spend a few hours at Lagoon to get our fill before it closes. We have never been to Lagoon during Frightmares. There aren't too many changes, other than all the fun Halloween decor and the spook and fun houses they add. In place of the small kiddie bumper cars, there is a walk through fun house for the little kids. They have about 6 or 7 little rooms that you walk through and they have a lot to look at like a crazy scientist, jungle, pumpkin patch, witches kitchen, castle, pet store, and pirates treasure room. In each room they give the kids a treat or prize before going onto the next room. I was quite impressed! I didn't know they had stuff like that! It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect, even a little cool, so we wore light jackets. Here are just a few pictures of the fun...

We are going to try and go a few more times before October is over and they are closed for the season. We will miss Lagoon during the winter but I guess we will just have to find another activity we can do as a family to keep us entertained. One of the things we like to do when the weather is cold is bake! We made a few batches of cinnamon rolls this week, and then for Conference today, we continued with a tradition of making Conference Cakes. They were yummy! Carson & Kaylee helped me roll out the dough, and I gave them each a piece to play with....can you tell what Kaylee did with hers?
My brother Chris stayed with us last night after Nick and him went to the priesthood session with our neighbor Ike. So it was fun to have him with us today as we ate the conference cakes. We even had our good friends the McKays come and watch conference with us this morning and help us eat the conf cakes too. I love conference weekend. Nice and relaxing and you get to listen to the prophet!

Precious Hallie

On Thursday, I headed up to Ogden to take my new niece Hallie's pictures! It was so much fun and she was so cute!!! The best part was when she initiated her dad by peeing all over his arm! It was hilarious!! Thanks Matt & Nat for letting me play photographer for you!

Bunko Night!

Last night I was asked to sub for a Bunko Group that some of my good friends are in. They get together monthly and play the game Bunko, which is a dice game. I am sure many of you are familiar with this game and probably belong to your own Bunko group! It was SOOOO much fun. At first I wasn't sure I would like it since it is purely a game of LUCK not skill. But after the first few rounds I realized that it isn't just the game that makes Bunko Night fun, but the people. You are constantly rotating around three tables and you have a different partner each time. You can tell the people who play the game a lot, they don't have to concentrate too hard on the game and they can carry on conversations while they play. It was just a super fun night and it was great to get to know some of the ladies in my neighborhood a bit better and to just play a fun, non competitive game. After the game is all over, there are prizes for the person with the most Bunko's, most wins, losses, and a 'Flying Monkey' prize. I did go home with a prize, but not for the most wins, but the most losses. I guess I am not that lucky of a dice roller, I better remember that if I ever go to Vegas! Thanks gals for the fun! I can't wait to sub again sometime!

Friday Night Fun!

On Friday night we were lucky enough to go to dinner and to the circus with some great friends, the Yospe's!
Do you like Carson's backpack? It worked great for a diaper bag that night! And he didn't mind one bit wearing it for us!
The kids had so much fun together! Here is Carson, Luke, and Max chillin' before the circus started.
We entertained ourselves with the camera as we waited for the circus to begin!
Of course I had to get kisses from BOTH of my favorite boys!

Kaylee and Carson loved all the acts, especially the horses and dogs. They also loved the elephants and tigers too. It was very entertaining, even as an adult it was fun to watch!
Thanks again Ike & Jana for such a fun evening!!
