Waimea Canyon

Thursday was a free day to explore Kauai all on our own.  We downloaded a guide on our phone that lead us all around the island and up to Waimea Canyon.  We stopped at a few places including waterfalls on our way up to the canyon.  They were so amazing!  The funniest thing was the chickens that were everywhere at one of the waterfalls.  We had to take pictures and video to show Alivia.  She was obsessed with them, so we kept sending her pictures every time we would see a chicken.  

 We headed back North towards Kilauea Lighthouse to meet up with Kathy & Kerry we stopped at a grocery store and picked up some lunch, that included chicken and sweet potato fries!  

Date Night in Kauai

Nick and I enjoyed a date night with some of the other couples that were staying at the ranch with us.  We went to Duke's for some Hula Pie and it was delicious!  We enjoyed a stroll along the beach.  It was a beautiful evening!

After we got done with our Hoopi Falls ATV tour, we had everyone that was there come back to the house for a little luncheon.  We had pizza and fruit.  It was so fun and it was great just hanging out around the pool with everyone.  It was a blast!

At the end of our ATV tour, we stopped by Hoopi falls.  There is a 2 to 3 mile hike that the public can use to get the the waterfall, but because the property owned by Frank is on the border, we were able to drive right up to the falls and make our way down a set of stairs in just a few minutes.  It was so fun!  There was a rope swing that we all got to try out!  I apparently need to work on my upper body strength.  The water felt great and it was nice to get a layer of dirt off of us! 

 

On the ATV Road Again!

On Wednesday Morning, we on another ATV ride with the whole group! It was a blast!  We got to explore even more of the property and ended up at a fun waterfall.  The view from the top of the hillside was amazing!!!!  Such an amazing day!

One of the cool things about our tour, is the wing from the movie "Tropic Thunder" that was left for a fun tourist sight!  This is PRIVATE property though, so not a lot of people get to see it! 

Tuesday's Lunch and Leisure!

After our snorkeling adventure, we stopped for lunch at a cool food truck called "Big Nick's!"  Nick had the BIG NICK hamburger.  I had teriyaki chicken and rice.  It was delicious!  We ate with our new friends Kathy & Kerry Buxton, and Eric & Jasmine Jensen!  It was so fun!  And the weather was beautiful!

We stopped by the coconut market and found some shaved ice!  We shared a berry one!  Yum!

We then went back to the house and played some Cover your Assets with everyone.  It was so much stinkin' fun!!  The more they caught onto the game, the funnier it got!  

We really were having the time of our lives that week!  We got up bright and early the next morning for another ATV adventure with the whole crew.  One of my favorite things about Hawaii are the trees.  They are just so amazing!!!  This tree was where we would meet in the mornings.  So cool!  See next post for our fun adventures we had on Wednesday!
