Ward Campout-Friday Night

We pulled out of Woods Cross around 4:30 on Friday with the trailer in tow!  We were all so excited!  We drove up to Eden via trappers loop and made it to the camp site, Camp Lamondi, a little before 6.  We got our trailer parked and leveled and then enjoyed some yummy dinner, pulled pork sandwiches with yummy sides and desserts from everyone there.  

 After dinner, the kids played and played.  It was so fun visiting with other ward members and enjoying the beautiful scenery and weather.  Once the sun went down it got a bit chilly, but it couldn't have been better weather.

They did some fun games, like the Prop game that Carson and I played.  He had a soccer cone and I had a big toilet paper roll.  They did a lot of minute to win it games and cup stacking, which Kaylee had a chance at doing and did great for her first time every trying it!

 Preston was in heaven!  He loved just having the freedom to play outside and play with sticks.  We are lucky to have such great people in our ward that treat our children like one of their own.  Everyone was so good to play with Preston especially and helped keep on eye on him.  He seriously was having the time of his life!

The night ended with a great talk by the bishop and s'mores!  We got everyone ready for bed and beds made in the trailer.  It got pretty cool at night, but luckily we had the warm trailer so we didn't notice at all.  I was thinking it was a bit much taking the trailer for one night, but it was so worth it and the kids were just so excited to take it out!  I think there were about 4 or 5 other trailers there as well, so it was fun to have ours there too!   Overall, the turn out was really good I think.  They said they had over 100 people at the dinner that night.  It was just a great evening!!!

Reading and a New Baby!

Since we have gotten our trailer, we have wanted to get a generator for it so we have power when we don't have hookups available.  We finally found a great deal on one at Costco last week.  There was only one problem.  We couldn't get it home in the back of the van with all the kids in the van.  So we laid down the seats and Nick got it in and took it home while I stayed with the older three kids at Costco.  Then he came back and picked us up.  But we didn't mind waiting.  We decided to get some frozen yogurt to help pass the time!  It was awesome!  Carson was so excited about getting a new generator.  He was like a kid at Christmas!

 Thursday, my good friend Jana had her baby!  It was a little girl, her 5th!!!  They named her Nora!  So on Friday, after Literacy day at the park, we went with Rachel and Makenna to visit them in the hospital.

Here are pictures from the park that morning.  We learned all horses and Carson colored a wanted posted for the theif in the book he is reading with the older kids.

 Of course the little kids played on the toys most of the time, but everyone was happy so it was a success!  We got the bathrooms cleaned and clothes packed before Nick got home from work so we could leave for the ward campout.  It was a great start to what ended up being an amazingly fun weekend!

Gateway Dance Performance

Last week was a typical busy summer week.  But since the weather was a little cool and it rained the first part of the week, we mostly did things inside.  But once the weather warmed up the rest of the week, the kids were back at it outside playing with friends, riding bikes, and helping dad on his Jeep.  This is a picture Nick took of the kids, I think they are so cute!

 I was glad the weather was back to sunny and warm for Thursday.  Kaylee's dance group performed there. Kaylee had a solo and did a great job.  It was the first life of "A Whole New World" from Aladin.  

She did a great job and it was a fun family activity for us.  It will be nice to get a break from dance the rest of the summer though.  Now it is on to swim lessons and family camping!

Swim time with Grandma!

Last week my mom was staying in Murray while she was teaching a workshop.  So we got to enjoy some time with her since she was so close.  First, I have to share this cute picture of Preston.  I had gotten the clothes out of the dryer to fold and he laid down in them to enjoy the warmth.  It was so funny.  He wouldn't get off of them!  It made it a bit tricky to fold them!

On Monday evening, we had my mom over for dinner and enjoyed some Hawaiian  Haystacks.  Then watched some fun youtube videos on the tv before she left.  Preston was so adorable with  her and just wanted to sit on her lap and cuddle.  

 On Tuesday, we drove down after dinner to my mom's hotel, the Crystal Inn, and enjoyed swimming in the pool and hanging out in the hot tub.  I love the puddle jumpers that the two little kids have.  It gives them so much freedom with swimming, but of course, we stayed pretty close to them!

It was such a fun evening and the kids were so sad to leave, but we were so grateful for the time we got to spend with our fun grandma!

Father's Day 2014

Sunday the kids had a blast celebrating Father's day for Nick.  They came up with some of their own creative gifts, which were mostly things from their rooms, and then we also gave him a new backpack (he likes to take one to work and has been using an old one from some time when his last back pack zipper broke).  We also gave him a cute collage of pictures showing the reason why they love him.  

The kids had also made him coupons (that expire on July 1st according to Kaylee).  They included things like making his bed and a foot rub, which they all did together that morning.  

When I went to take these pictures off the camera, I found some pictures that Kaylee and Carson took of them playing downstairs that morning before church.  It made me laugh.  

I do remember him taking a quick picture of me as I was making the kids a lunch.  We had a great time at church and then enjoyed steaks for dinner.  

We really appreciate all the Nick does for our family and he is such a great hands on dad!  We love you!

Bikes Vs. Cars

Saturday was full of bikes and cars.  I started of the day with a 21 mile bike ride up to Farmington and back.  It felt pretty good, but I was a little lonely.  Biking with someone is a lot more fun!  When I got back, Nick helped a neighbor lay some sod in their yard and then we got ready and headed to the car show in Bountiful.  Since Carson and I were gone Friday night to the bells concert we wanted to make sure he got a chance to see all the cars.  Nick didn't mind of course, since he loves that kind of thing more than anyone else I know!  

 But don't worry, it wasn't just a car show.  There was food, bounce houses, and even princesses.  The girls loved seeing Anna and Elsa from Frozen.  It was a little cool, so we had to wear jackets, but it was still very pleasant weather.  We had pizza for lunch then popcorn and caramel apples for a treat before heading home for some naps.  I even got to sneak in a quick nap of my own.

Btw, this was my favorite car.  The prettiest red Lamborghini.  I wouldn't mind going for a ride in this some day!

We went up to Farmington station for dinner at Panda Express then after we got home Nick got a chance to get in a bike ride.  He made it all the way up to Kaysville and back.  While he was gone, we enjoyed some cookies and some playtime with the Garaycocheas next door.  It wasn't too eventful of a day, but sometimes it is nice to just have a laid back day and relax!
