Bar Soap Science

Kaylee had an endocrinologist appt in the middle of all of the December craziness!  But we made it and next time pushed it out further so we don't have a doctors appt in December!  When I checked her back into school, I ran into Preston who had just received a Principal's club award for doing a good job singing in the choir.

Kaylee had a Science Project due the very next day.  I still can't believe the teachers add a science fair in the middle of December.  Are they crazy??  So we stayed up until 11 on Thursday night making sure her poster was all done.  She did 95% of the work all herself, which was awesome.  She did a report about soap.  It made both of our microwaves smell like soap!  Haha!

Alivia & Carson Piano Recital

We attended Alivia & Carson's piano recital on December 11th.  They did so good!  Alivia played Carol of the Bells and Carson played a Christmas Medley.  I was proud of them both!  They have the cutest teachers, Mary & Phebe.

Ring those Belles!

We had an eventful week following our Choir concert!  Welcome to December!  We had a meeting in SLC for Carson's school, Capstone Classical Academy.  It didn't go quite like they had planned and the board voted to close the school at the end of the year.  Which was heart breaking, but we still have a chance if we can increase enrollment before the end of the year.  After the meeting we stopped at Primary's to visit Matt, Nat & Liam.  He was so cute and doing well!  Then we stopped for lunch at Zupas before making it home in time to pick up kids from school.  That night I had a performance with the Lomond View Belles at the Weber State Singers Concert.  Even though it takes more time, it is so fun to play bells with my friends and get to be the performer and not just the director sometimes!  Also...a quick pic of another time we made orange chicken in the instapot!  Yum!

Festival of Trees

It felt great to sleep in a little bit after a big concert night.  It was a beautiful sunny day to drive down to Sandy and have my Performance Academy studios perform at the Festival of Trees.  They both did great.  My Elites performed at both performances.  We even had time this year between performances to check out some of the trees and have some food.  Another big event check off the list for December.

Sunday was a busy day full of rehearsals but also a good little break before another busy week.  We also got news that weekend that our nephew, Liam, has a tumor in his abdomen that is Neoroblastoma, which is a kind of cancer.  They are optimistic that with a few rounds of Chemo, they will be able to shrink it and he will be back to 100%.  Prayers and love for Liam!

Lomond View Choir Christmas Concert 2019

On Friday, December 6th, we had our choir concert! It went very well and we were very pleased with the kid's performance.  It is always so much work to get this all put together, so it is very rewarding when it goes the way we want it to! The Weber State Singers came and sang a few songs with us!  I think the highlight of the evening was the "Polar Express" bell medley from our bell choir.  Kaylee is in that bell group and I directed them.  It went great and they were very entertaining.  I love that my kids get to be in a choir like this and that I get to help!

Kaylee's Piano Recital

On Tuesday, December 3rd, Kaylee performed at her piano recital.  She played a really cool version of "Little Drummer Boy" and she nailed it.  We are so proud of her!  She worked so hard and has just gotten better and better!  I love the natural music she has in her soul.  She learns fast and has natural rhythm.  Love her!!

The very next day, we had our Dress rehearsal at Lomond View Elem for our North Ogden Studio.  It went great and I am so proud of my students!

After a long busy day, my favorite treat is some hot cocoa with my favorite snowman marshmallows!  Yum!!!
Then Friday we had our last lunch dance rehearsal and did our best to get the kids so excited for the choir concert that night!

Is it December Yet???

Thanksgiving was pretty late in November this year, so we were all ready to dive into December!  But first, we had a quick trip to instacare with Preston who wouldn't stop complaining about some jaw pain.  They prescribed ibuprofen, not sure what his problem was, and that seemed to help.  Nick and I attended a wedding in SLC at the Joseph Smith building for a cute girl in our ward, Abagail Ames.  It was a pretty event!

We kicked off December with an ENT Follow Up appt for Carson and everything looked great!  He got the go ahead to finally shower and swim!  Let's hope this is the end of ear problems for this cute kid!  I had Nick meet us at the Layton office to take Carson home since I had to head out to Syracuse for a dress rehearsal and then to Ogden for a bell rehearsal.  December is a crazy month when you are a musician and so we had something almost every night during the month.  At least most of the things we had were a LOT of fun!  That same night, Nick took the girls to a Reflections awards assembly for Council.  Kaylee's song took first and will move onto Region.  Alivia's song got an award of Merit!  But did not go onto Region.  We find out in January if Kaylee's will now go to State!

Choir was into full swing since our Concert was on Friday, the 6th.  A little earlier than normal, but it was so nice having it over so early in the month.  I honestly love helping with choir and even though it is a lot of early morning, it is my favorite part of my day!  I also love that I am there with my kids!
