Happy Valentine's Day!

It was a busy week leading up to Valentine's day and we added to the craziness with a trip to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for a yummy treat provided by Modern Woodman.  Nick and Preston had Coldstone Icecream, but the rest of us shared some gourmet apples.  It was delicious!
We did some shoe shopping for Carson on the way home.  The kids got a Valentine's card from Gma & Papa Bear with money for some ice cream!
On Tuesday, it was finally Valentine's day!  The girls wore their most Valentine colored clothes for the day!  All of my kids were adorable that day!  We had an early morning Ortho appointment for Carson.  Then I took the Alivia to Mercedez house to play until school and I took Preston with me to Woods Cross to do our taxes, meet up with Dawn and her kids for lunch at McDonald's, and then a hair appointment with Heather.  It was a busy Valentine's afternoon!

I got home in time to see the kids quick before teaching dance that night.  Nick headed to Tremonton with Preston to help my dad put shingles on the roof.  We had a fun Valentine's dance day with lots of candy, singing and dancing!

Getting ready for Valentine's Day!

The kids spent the weekend putting their valentines together to pass out to their classes, ballroom class, and dance classes.  We bought over 150 valentines total!
On Saturday, the 11th, I took Kaylee to a Storytelling festival workshop and she was able to get some pointers on how to make it better.  She is performing her story at the School Board meeting on March 1st.  So cool!
The kids had a ballroom valentine's party that afternoon and afterwards I took Kaylee to get a haircut.  Miss Brandi's daughter cut her hair and did a great job!

Sunday, we got up and ready for church, but because of flooding in the area, we were asked to conserve draining water so we had the kids take a quick bath in the same water and then decided to use a bucket to drain the water on the front lawn.  It was quite a crazy morning!
Kaylee had me do her hair straight for church and it was so pretty.  I love the color of her hair!

For singing time, we sang our favorite songs while making a big Valentine's card for the bishopric.
Monday, I finally took the time to mop the floor so the kids enjoyed playing "train" while I cleaned.  It was cute!  Alivia had a few friends over for just a bit before taking them all to school.  They are such a cute group of friends!

Preston's Vday Party!

On Friday, the 10th, Preston had his Valentine's day part at pre-school.  It was so fun and he was so cute to watch!  I went as a parent volunteer.  They made necklaces, hats, smashed hearts, and threw darts.  They frosted cookies and passed out valentines.  Such a fun morning!

Field Trip Thursday!

On Thursday, the 9th, Nick was able to go on not just one, but two field trips with the girls!  Kaylee had her 3rd grade field trip to the Hill AFB Museum.  He was able to work a few hours and then meet up with her and her class.  He even brought plastic planes from his shop for all the kids in the 3rd grade.  They loved them!

I met up with some friends at the library that morning and Nick met me there to pick up Alivia and take her to school for her field trip.  They had fun singing and hearing stories.  This is definitely something I need to take the kids to more often.

After the library, we went to McDonald's for lunch with our friends.  Nick and Alivia went on the bus to the Fire Station and learned all about fire trucks!

February is Here!

Nick has been busy working on the laundry room and finally got it all sealed in and the hole for the door put in.  They got all the sheet rock hung and even got it textured and ready to paint.  It will be so nice when it is done!
On Sunday, the 5th, we had stake conference and my cute friend and neighbor Crista joined me in singing in the stake choir.  We sang "I Need thee Every Hour" and "Press Forward, Saints".  Nick stayed home with the kiddos since Preston had a horrible cough and Carson spent the whole afternoon stacking cups up to the ceiling in the kitchen!

That evening, Nick and the kids went to the McConkies to watch the superbowl.  I stayed home with Preston and we watched tv.  While Carson was there, the kids were playing with the billiards balls on the pool table and Annie threw one and it hit another ball and it bounced up and hit Carson in the mouth breaking the top part of his lower tooth clean off!  Ugh!!!!  Luckily, we happen to know a great dentist (haha!) that was able to get him in the next morning and get it fixed!

That same morning, I took Kaylee for her annual check up with the little kids in tow.  They did pretty good running between appointments.  It was a crazy morning!
Alivia is becoming such a good little pianist!  She loves to practice and doesn't let me forget her lesson on Mondays!  I can tell she has a lot of natural ability and musicality in her.  I love it!

Tuesday dance days are fun and tiring all at the same time!  We are getting to learn our dances even more right now and I am excited to see it all come together for our next show.

Kaylee is 9!

On Monday, January 30th, Kaylee turned 9 years old!  She woke up early to go to Orchestra and loved her streamers!  She had bagels for breakfast and was excited for the day!

The younger kids helped me pick out balloons and take them to her at lunch.  They had the January Birthday Table set up that day.  She was pretty happy about it.

I taught a few piano lessons after school, but then we headed out for an early dinner at Ihop, which was Kaylee's request!  The kids loved it!

We stopped at Walmart on our way home and did some shopping and Kaylee picked out some pink shoes that she bought with some birthday money.  Then we headed back home and Kaylee opened up another fun lego set!
Kaylee looked adorable with her new shoes on the next day.  She was all smiles!
Our sweet Kaylee bug is getting so big and every day she amazes us with her wit and personality!  She is an amazing student and is such a great musician.  She is getting so great at piano and is doing amazing with the violin.  She just started tumbling is loving it!  She is always such a good student at Performance Academy and we are excited to see her and Carson perform at Ballroom at the end of February.  She has such a great imagination.  She is always writing stories and drawing pictures to make books.  Things like that come so easy to her and she is getting so good at doing her own hair, and even Alivia's hair once in awhile.  She is just getting so grown up.  We are so blessed to have her in our family!
