Rigby Lake Day!

We have really enjoyed going to Rigby Lake the past few years and so the kids were excited to go again this year!  We enjoyed a Jazzercise exercise before lunch and heading to the lake with everyone.  Nick had gone with Justin and Chris (Shanda's husband) on a fourwheeler ride.  They had a blast and I was glad he got a chance to do something with just the guys.  They met us at the lake around 2 and played in the water with us for a bit.  The weather was HOT and perfect for swimming in the lake.  The water was a bit chilly, but the kids didn't seem to mind.  It was so fun and it got even more fun when Matt & Nat, Grandma, and Chris and Krissy showed up.  It was quite a party!

 After the lake, we got cleaned up and just the adults headed out to dinner at Cafe Sabor!  It was so yummy!  Mexican!  Grandma & Grandpa Edstrom even came with us.  On the way home we made a stop at Walmart and I bought a new pair of shades...cool, huh?

The sunset that night was also beautiful.  We had a lot of late nights while we were in Idaho, mainly because we were having too much fun!  That included Aunt Krissy painting everyone's nails for the 4th!  There was also a lot of food prep and visiting.  Oh, and of course we had to have fireworks!  I love being together with my family!

Idaho....here we come!

Last Wednesday, after play practice and after Nick got home from work early, we headed to Idaho Falls for the 4th of July Weekend.  We made it past Malad when we realized we forgot all of the life jackets and puddle jumpers.  There was no way we could survive without those, so we turned around and met my wonderful mom in Plymouth to get them from her.  So glad she was able to help us out!  I had been texting Natalie on our way there and told her how our van looks like a circus driving down the road, so I took a picture to send it to her when we stopped in Plymouth.  I was a FULL van.  It made me think of getting a new suburban all weekend long just so we could pack everything and pull a trailer!  Maybe someday that will happen!  We finally made it to Ukon about an hour and a half late, but we made it!  We got there during Makenzie's game.  The other team didn't have enough players so Carson stepped in on their team playing 3rd base and hitting.  He didn't get a hit, but he sure had fun playing!  

 After the game, we headed back to Marisa's house for some fireworks.  Then the kids all slept on the porch.  It was a beautiful night!  I love that my kids got this chance to be with their cousins and make these fun memories!

 The next morning, and night, I was able to go to Jazzercise where Marisa is an instructor.  She is amazing and it is so much fun!  When we move to Pleasant View, I will be able to go to classes in Farr West.  I highly recommend giving it a try!

 After we got home and had lunch, we took the kids to Rexburg Rapids.  The kids must have stayed up too late the night before because they crashed on the way there!  We had a blast and it was the perfect way to beat the heat.

 We stopped at Grandma and Grandpa Edstrom's house on the way back to Ukon.  We had a nice visit with them but had to get home for Mayci's game.  We left a little early to make it to the evening jazzercise class.  There was a lot of late nights, but it was only because we were all having way too much fun!

Church, Swimming, Tile, Paint, and More Swimming!

Last Sunday, we attended church in PV.  They received our records so they read our names in during Sacrament Meeting.  I stayed after for choir practice, then we headed to the house to check on the paint.  They had a good start on the paint.  It was after 2 before we got home, but since the kids snacked on pretzels and cereal all the way home, they weren't too hungry.  Kaylee must have also been tired, since she slept most of the way home from church.

Later that night I caught the kids singing and talking into the fan, which is something every child needs to do a least a dozen times!  It was hilarious!

 On Monday, the older kids went to their first day of play practice with Grandma.  After they got home, we had a quick lunch and headed to Ogden.  Natalie invited us to go swimming at their pool in their complex.  It was SO hot, so any chance we have to cool off in water, we take it!  The kids had a blast and we could have swam for hours, but I had to pick up a key to our new house from Nilson Homes and then pick Nick from work.  We made a trip to Costco, enjoyed a pizza dinner there, and then stopped by the house on the way home to see the progress on the paint.  It was so close to getting done and we were pleasantly surprised that the tile in the laundry and bathrooms were laid.  I can't wait to go back and see how it looks with it grouted.

 When we got home that evening, we had the yummiest watermelon on the porch with Grandma.  It was a beautiful evening once it cooled off a bit.

 On Tuesday, we made plans to meet up with my cousin, Alena, who was in town from AZ.  We met at Mantua Res since it was on her way to Logan, where she was headed that afternoon to visit friends. Natalie and her girls were also able to come and we spent a few hours playing in the water.  Nick got off work early, so he was able to come and play for a bit and help get the kayaks loaded back into the trailer.  I left a little early so I could get Carson back in time for scouts.  Unfortunately, they ended up not having scouts, so we went to Feldman's and had ice cream instead.  It was kind of a fun little afternoon date with him.

Mantua Reservoir

Last Friday (the 26th) we had a day full of laundry, chores, and a picnic lunch followed by date night with Nick.  We have been looking for a fridge for awhile now and knew that around Independence Day brings great sales on appliances.  We narrowed it down to a Samsung French Door fridge, and since we had a 10% off at Home Depot, that is what we ended up with.  We finished our date with dinner at Freddy's Steakburgers.  It was pretty good.  

Saturday, I went for a bike ride and when I got back the younger kids insisted on going on their own ride.  Nick had planned on working all day, but we had been wanting to try out the kayaks we have borrowed from Justin, so he came home a few hours early so we could head to Mantua Reservoir and try them out.  We had scoped it out the night before while we were on our date.  It is a cute little lake that has a small shore, but works perfect for a day outing.

 The kids were beyond excited for Nick to get home so we could leave.  Can you tell from the picture?

 We made it to the lake and the water was the perfect temperature.  It was so pleasant!  The day was SO hot so it was the best way to keep cool!  We had a blast and couldn't wait to back again!!!

 We got home and had chicken for dinner and went to bed early so we could get up for Church on Sunday.  Alivia insisted on sleeping with me, and was such a cutie so I had to take a picture of her cute smile!
