Wow...I have a lot to catch up on! We have just cruised through the first week of July! And it was a busy week! We started the week with a group lesson on Monday. It was a lot of fun. We played a couple theory games, learned about a composer (Aaron Copland), and then each of my students played a song they were working on. I had Kaylee participate too. Carson had been invited to Lagoon with a friend, so we missed having him there. But since he technically isn't my student I figured it was ok. We finished the class with some cookies. All of my students so far this week have told me they are super excited for our next group lesson....so I think it was a hit!
We are still in the middle of swimming lessons and the kids are still loving it!
We also had Pack Meeting followed by a bike ride around the vacant lot. We also enjoyed some yummy ice cream sandwiches which tasted delicious on a hot summer night.
We have been spending most Monday Evenings at Lagoon, taking full advantage of our season passes. I love that our kids love Lagoon so much! It has been totally worth getting our passes!
I took the girls in for a hair cut with Heather last week. They both just needed a little trim. Heather has been doing my hair for at least 4 years and we just adore her. She got married almost two years ago and is expecting a little boy in September. We are so happy for her!
Kaylee had her last class of gymnastics on Wednesday. My good friend Rachel Y. had been taking her since her kids were also in that class, but since I didn't have to teach piano or mow the lawn (we did that Tues Evening) I was able to go and watch for a bit. She loves gymnastics and I think we will have her do that this fall instead of dance.
Wednesday, after lunch we headed to the splash pad with the Youngbergs and Tanners and enjoyed the hot day by cooling off in the water! I am loving that Preston is finally getting old enough to really enjoy things like this.
Thursday, Nick was home (for the 4th) so I was able to get a run in with Rachel before I got ready for the day. On the way to swim lessons we stopped at the ENT and had the audiologist fit Kaylee for some custom ear plugs. She has been complaining about her ear hurting after she swims so I think these will help with that. I just should have thought about them a few weeks BEFORE swim lessons. Oh well! It was pretty funny to see how they do it. It looked like they squirted pink frosting in her ear. Both Carson and I have a set of ear plugs as well and they work so much better than the silly putty stuff you buy.
So that was just the first part of our crazy week last week. We wrapped up June and started of July with a LOT of FUN!!!
