Grocery Store Field Trip!

Yesterday, Kaylee's preschool class went on a field trip to Dick's Market.  We got to tour the whole store and see how the grocery store runs and all the helpers in the store.  It was super fun and Kaylee had a blast.  They were so good to us, gave us treats, stickers, and balloons.  Alivia came along and was an absolute angel.  She just sat in the stroller and hung out, not making a peep.  I think she was a little tired, but she was still just a peach!

We loved all the samples they gave us, like string cheese and especially the cookies!!  I remember going on the same field trip with Carson.  I feel so lucky that I am able to be home and enjoy being involved in things like this!

Our new Niece!!

On Sunday, after church, we headed up to Ogden to visit Matt & Natalie and their cute new baby girl, Gracie.  She is so cute....and SO little!  She was born on Friday, January 6th.  We are so happy for them!!!
When we got home, we enjoyed some yummy dutch oven chicken & potatoes that Nick made for us.  Then we enjoyed our favorite dessert, Skookies!  Even Alivia got a little taste!!!!
On Monday, for FHE, we made some yummy Jello dessert, sang songs, read out of the Book of Mormon, and watched a DVD I had made of our Disney Cruise.  (I only had the first 4 days done, but the kids loved it and I can't wait to finish it!).
It has been nice getting back into the normal routine of school and work.  Nick has made a New Year's Resolution to loose a little weight, and has been doing good!  He is working out and watching what he eats a little closer.  I have a resolution to read my scriptures every day and get through the Book of Mormon AND Doctrine and Cov. by the end of the year.  Some days it is easy to find time to read, and other days I feel like I hardly get a chance to sit down!  So I hope I can get into a good routine so it is easy!  Routine is SO good!  Wish me luck with it!

It only took 7 years....

While Nick and I were on our Date Saturday, we stopped and bought some curtains for our family room.  We have lived in our house for 7 years, and just haven't put up drapes in the family room yet.  I was inspired when I saw Jana's cute curtains in her Family Room...so inspired, that I went and bought the exact same ones!  I am sure she won't mind! So when we got home, Nick was nice enough to put them up for me!  I love them!

It is nice to have them up!  It makes the room feel so much more warm and decorated!  I wish we hadn't waited so long to put drapes up!  I was so excited about them that I finally ordered a new shower curtain for our master bath.  We bought a cheap shower curtain from Ross when we first moved in and just haven't found one I liked or wanted to spend money on, but luckily I found a great deal on a cute but super cheap shower curtain and ordered it.  I got it today and I love it too!  It is so fun to see how something so easy to change can make such a big difference when it comes to decorating!  Mmmm...what else can I afford to change??  I might have to start saving money JUST to go towards decorating the house!  It is fun!!!

Finally....Snow!!!

We woke up to a fun surprise Saturday Morning!!!  Actually, Carson came in my room just before 4 AM when Nick was leaving to work to tell me it had snowed outside.  So when we got up for the day, both kids were super excited to get out and start playing in the snow.  They had gotten new tubes for Christmas and so they were glad they were able to finally use them!

They spent quite a bit of time outside playing.  After I put Livy down for a nap, I headed outside to shovel the driveway and build a pile of snow for them to play in.  It was a great workout!  And it was really fun to finally have snow!  I was glad it was Saturday and that we hadn't planned on going anywhere that day cause it made it easy to just play!  That night, Nick and I did enjoy a date night to sizzler and some shopping.  Then on Sunday, we enjoyed our 9 o'clock church!   We love it!!!  Even though it is early, it made it so nice to have the rest of the afternoon open.  We visited Natalie & Matt and their new baby, Gracie.  It was a great weekend!

Pancakes!

Last Friday, Carson had a field trip planned for his first grade class to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden. His teacher told the class to have a good big breakfast since they would be back later to school than normal for lunch.  So Carson requested pancakes for breakfast that morning.  When Carson was little I used to make breakfast every morning, but then he would never eat it, so I stopped and now breakfast consists of Carnation Instant Breakfast and a granola bar for both kids.  That is all they will eat and the only time they do eat pancakes or waffles is if it is for dinner.  But I went ahead and made pancakes and was hopeful that it would be worth the extra effort.  Kaylee did a great job eating her pancake and even Livy loved the pancakes.  Carson had one bite and then requested his Carnation.  Go figure.  But they all still looked really cute eating breakfast that morning, so here they are.

Carson had a blast on the field trip.  After school, we had made arrangements for Carson's friend Connor to come over and play.  Connor is in Carson's class and they play every day at recess.  He is a cute kid and we all enjoy when he is over to play.  The boys played outside most of the sunny afternoon, but came in for some hot cocoa before his mom came to pick him up.
I just have to share some cute pictures of Alivia.  She is crawling full force and will stand up against everything.  We just think she is adorable and the kids just get a kick out of her when she does silly things!

She is still very much a momma's girl!  Even though it is flattering, it is also very annoying.  She cries when other people want to hold her.  Even Dad can't convince her most of the time to go to him.  It makes it hard to get stuff done when she wants to be held, but I don't mind.  They are only little so long and I want to enjoy every minute of her being a 'baby'!  We love her!!!

Happy New Years!!!!

Wow!  Welcome to a new year!!!!  It is so weird to think it is 2012!  I remember when I was a teenager thinking how weird it would be to be in the 21st century and I couldn't even imagine what my life would be like right now!  It seemed so far away, and now here we are, married, with 3 beautiful children, living in Woods Cross, and loving every minute of it!  We had fun ringing in the New Year at Marisa's house in Idaho Falls.  We spent the evening playing games, playing the Wii, and watching movies.  Here are some fun pictures of our night!  (Yes, we ALL stayed up til midnight, besides Alivia).

I love that the guys were willing to let loose and have a little fun too!  It was great fun!!

On Sunday, we got up early to get ready for church and to help as much as we could get lunch put together for after church.  After church, we stayed and were able to attend Braydon's ordination of becoming a Deacon and receiving the priesthood.  We then headed back to Ris's house and had yummy soup and rolls before heading back over to the church to attend Austin's Eagle Court of Honor.

It was a nice court of honor, with a slide show and of course refreshments.  We are so proud of Austin for his achievement!  And we are so glad that we could be there to celebrate all his hard work!  The kids loved being with their cousins, and they had fun passing out the programs and just playing with one another!

It was a fun weekend spend with family.  We always enjoy being with one another, and it was especially fun to spend time with Tiffany and her family since she lives so far away.  It was a great way to start of the new year!
