Wow, we have had a busy life at our house!! And it has been FUN FUN FUN!!! On Thursday we went to Carson's Rec Class and they played Basketball. He liked this one a lot!!! 
They had a good time learning how to dribble and shoot the ball.
Before we left the house I told him I needed to write our name on the basketball so we wouldn't loose it. By the time I made it out to the kitchen to do it he told me he already put his name on the ball. It made me smile to see his name written on the ball in his own hand writing. What a smart kid!!!
On Thursday evening we had a great time going out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with our friends and neighbors Mike and Tara. We even let the kids tag along, and they all did great! After we got back from dinner we walked up to the Apple and got a snow cone. That is a great summer classic! After we got home my cousin Alena and her cute family showed up to spend a few days with us while they were in Utah and on their way to Washington State. On Friday morning I was able to go on a run with Grant, (Alena's Hubby) and my friend Jen. We ran 7 miles and it felt great and it was so fun to have someone to run with! After lunch we took the kids down to the Gateway in SLC and let them run through the water fountain.

We got home and made homemade pizza for dinner before heading back to the apple for more snow cones!!!
It was so fun to have Alena and Grant visit us!!! Our kids played well together and it was fun to catch up with them and get to know them better! They stayed Friday night at our house and left Saturday to visit some more friends and family while they are in Utah.
So on Saturday after we said goodbye to my cousins, we headed to Lagoon with some great friends. The DeWalls and the Neumanns. Both Ashley and Jen's husbands were gone on a YM Camping Trip and Nick was in Tremonton helping my Parents tile their house so just us girls took all the kids to Lagoon.
Everytime we go it makes me so glad we have season passes, since my kids LOVE it there!! They have no fear and will go on every ride they are tall enough to go on! One of their favorites is the bumper cars.
We took a break in the afternoon and headed home to let the kids have a nap and then we headed back after dinner for some more rides. By then, Nick had gotten home so we were glad to have him come back with us.
We stayed as late as we could and enjoyed every minute of it! We made it home and put the kids right to bed knowing we had to be up for church the next morning. We had a great Father's Day (which will be a separate post). Monday was spent cleaning the house and doing laundry from the fun long weekend we had. Then after Nick got home from work we went to the DI and found some tennis racquets and a ball to use to play Tennis for FHE. We also went to a local bike store called Masherz and finally bit the bullet and I bought a new road bike for me to use to exercise and use in triathlons. I am so excited about it! I will have to post a picture of the bike later. We headed to the park on our bikes and attempted to play tennis but did more running after the ball then hitting the ball, but it was fun! I took my new bike for a ride while Nick rode bikes home with the kids. I couldn't believe the difference a nice bike makes! My ride was amazing and I can't wait to ride it again and again! Today, Carson learned about Tennis at his Rec class. (That is what prompted the Tennis FHE last night!). He did pretty good!!!
For as many kids as they have in the class, they keep them very organized and the kids seem to learn very well!
Yesterday, Nicholas was able to come home from work early and we got to do a few new things during the day. The first was the first day of Woods Cross Summer Rec. Carson is in a 'Balls of Fun' class. So we all went to Hogan park to watch him. We get to spend the next 3 weeks learning about all different sports that involve balls. They include Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, and Tennis. Yesterday they focused on soccer. It was fun to see that Carson got to be in the same group as some of his friends like Banxton and Lincoln. He also is in the same group as Corbin, a boy from his soccer team from a few years ago! They had a blast playing together!
During the class, they played a game kind of like musical chairs, but they used soccer balls. They would run around the cones and when the teacher yelled "Soccer" they all had to come and put their foot on a ball and if they didn't get one, they were out.
Carson did a great job running!!!
At the end, it came down to Carson and Corbin as the last two in the game and Corbin just barely beat Carson. It was so fun to watch!
Kaylee also had a good time watching him play soccer (and eating her fruit snacks!).
They also worked on their kicking skills and practiced making goals.
Kaylee got to play with her friend Gracie (Banxton's little sis). They were both so adorable!!!
After lunch, we headed to Lagoon, which isn't new to us, but we did venture into part of the park that we hadn't visited before. After swimming at Lagoona Beach for a few hours and getting some ice cream (which wasn't a first either) we realized there was some exhibits that we hadn't seen before while we were there.
One is the Model Train building just North of Main Street in Pioneer Village and also the Miniature Circus display. It is in a BIG glass case and is really quite amazing!
The other is the huge buildings that house old fashion carriages. It was actually pretty cool!!!! They had different kinds like a popcorn wagon, covered wagon, hurse, and a stage coach.
It was a super fun day with our family. Other than Nick sunburning the top of his feet, we all enjoyed it! We had yummy homemade Manicotti and corn on the cob for dinner. While Nick was at scouts we went shoe shopping for Carson so he would have better athletic shoes for his Balls class. After we found him some shoes at Kmart, we made our FIRST visit to the snow cone trailer by the Apple. We only had one dollar, which was enough to share a small snow cone. It was yummy and the kids totally enjoyed every sip and spoonful they could get between the three of us! It didn't take us long to finish it off. I promised them the next time we go they could each have their own! It was a PERFECT summer day! We can't wait for more of them like that!
On Saturday morning, we braved the wind and the cold and the kids and I headed to Bountiful City Park for a car show. Nick had to work that morning, and I knew it was going to rain later so if we were going to see any of the cars it had to be that morning. We took pictures of a few of our favorite cars.
This was my most favorite car....I would love to drive one of these around town someday! (But with the top DOWN!)

It was sad to not have dad with us but we showed him the pictures and Carson told him about some of the cars he saw. Dad also showed us his latest FREE find....a new car creeper. He found it in a dumpster and it is practically brand new, it was only missing one wheel. But of course he fixed it and it works perfectly! I was glad to see what he had brought home, since he had just broken his old car creeper and needed a new one! (And no, he doesn't spend a lot of time in dumpster LOOKING for free stuff, I think he is just really lucky about picking the right dumpster to use!). Here he is giving Carson a test drive on the new creeper.
It is a pretty nice one, since it reclines and is super padded. I can't believe some one would just throw it away because of one broken wheel!!!
On Friday, I had my Bells on Temple Square summer concert. It was a patriotic theme and it was a great selection of music. I don't have any pictures of it yet, but will post some soon. I was happy to see some of my family and good friends there. It was a great evening and even though I made a few mistakes, overall I felt pretty good for my first concert! I can't wait to do it again!!!!
And Carson's was a coupon book. We also got him a boutonniere to wear to church that day! 
The night before on our way home from Lagoon we had to stop at Walmart to get a few groceries and Carson told us that he wanted a present for him for Father's day. We tried to explain to him that it doesn't work that way. But we told him we would try and surprise him. So I picked out some new PJ's for the kids (which I was going to get anyway) and wrapped them up so they would also have something to open Sunday morning! It worked perfect!!
Here is our Number One Dad with the best kids in the world before church.
The primary sang two songs during sacrament and Kaylee gave dad a cute picture of herself with a poem they made in nursery. After church, we headed up to Tremonton to make dinner for my dad. They are in the middle of remodeling their house since the basement got flooded. And they decided to not only do the downstairs but the upstairs too. So the fridge and stove were currently being stowed on the back porch so it was a good thing we did dutch oven that afternoon! It was perfect weather for a bbq and I was happy I was able to be with my dad on Father's day. I know I am so lucky to have a great dad and he is a fun grandpa too!!!
While dinner was cooking the kids enjoyed playing in the backyard with Grandma and Uncle Chris.
And the Dad's got to relax a bit. 
We had yummy dutch oven chicken & potatoes and then finished it off with cinnamon rolls, complete with raisins just for grandpa!!! Then after a game of cards we finished off the night with some Popsicles. 
We are sure going to miss Uncle Chris when he leaves next week on his Mission. But we are so excited for him too! I think we will just miss his 'strange and silly' personality, but we know the people in Brazil will think he is pretty funny and wonderful, just like we do and make him feel at home!
