Things to laugh at....

As I was getting ready yesterday morning, Carson came and told me he wanted to show me something in his room. So curiously I followed him into his room. He was super excited to show me what he had been working on. I just laughed when I saw what he had come up with. He had gotten a bunch of turkey feathers from down at the farm in Holden, and we had brought them back up in a cup so he could share them with his preschool friends for show n' tell. In the mean time, he thought it would be fun to put them standing up in his carpet along the base board of not just one, but two walls. It was hilarious!!!
This wall, and the wall on the other side of the door was lined with feathers. I asked him how he came up with that, and he said he wanted to hang them up in his room but didn't know how so he stuck them in the carpet instead!
One more thing that just made me laugh yesterday. Carson got a forklift from Santa Clause, but the very next day we realized we needed to send it back to Santa's workshop, because it stopped going forwards and backwards. Nick put it back into its box it came in so we could take it back to get 'fixed', and set it on the table. So as I was working on my computer yesterday, I was looking at the box, and was wondering to myself what a Remtoe Control was....then I just laughed. It was supposed to be "Remote" control!!! No wonder the forklift stop working. Quality control can't even spellcheck there packaging...so what would I expect from the toy?!?!

Christmas 2009

This year it has been so fun getting ready for and counting down the days until Christmas. Carson made the cutest thing at preschool to help count day the days until Christmas. It is a Santa that has numbered circles all over him. For each day you glue a cotton ball on, and by the time it is Christmas he is all complete with a puffy hat and beard.

Carson had so much fun gluing on the cotton ball EVERY day!!! I thought it was super cute! On Christmas morning, Carson was up at 6, but we convinced him to lay with us until at least 7. But by 7, he was more anxious to go downstairs, so we finally let him go and find Gma & Gpa Brower downstairs, but told him not to go around the the corner and down the hall until we went with him. As he went downstairs, gpa came out of the room and caught Carson going around the corner, but was able to stop him. But he must of seen something, because he came upstairs and told me there was a tiny table with ONE chair downstairs! He was pretty excited!! We ate cinnamon rolls and waited for Kaylee to wake up and then finally headed downstairs around 7:45. This is what was waiting for Carson and Kaylee downstairs...

I tried to get them to wait on the stairs until Nick could get the lights on and make sure everything was in its place, and to take a picture, but that was short lived! So I told them to go ahead and see what Santa had brought!
They easily found their stocking and present that Santa brought for them.
Kaylee got a cute Powerwheels Fourwheeler (We got it at a yard sale, and Santa brought her a new battery for it!) And Carson got a great Lego Table! And a Forklift!! I think he was pretty happy with it, what do you think?!?!
Kaylee also got a doll and stroller from Santa. Don't you just love her hair?!?! It was so wild that morning!
We spent the next hour or so opening presents and playing with the new toys!
Nick even surprised me with a few gifts. A water bottle for working out, earrings, and the Glee soundtrack. (I also got a new scarf and digital camera). My parents gave us some great gifts, including books, a Valentine Theme for my ladder, water storage containers, and yummy treats!
It was fun having my family there and to see what they got! Here is my dad in his new swim goggles!
Carson also got a new coat! He desperately needed a new one, since his the one he is wearing now is a 3T!
We also got the kids the cutest neck pillows for when we travel in the car. They were great success when we headed to Holden over the weekend!
They also got some clothes! I finally had to help Kaylee open her presents since she was getting a bit behind in opening them herself!
Nick got spoiled! He got a hydration backpack (which I bought purely for selfish reasons, hoping he will let me borrow it sometimes!), a new suit, a new power tool, and some clothes.
I think Carson spent most of the day on Kaylee's fourwheeler, but he was more than willing to give Kaylee a ride!
We also played some of the MANY games we got! Not only did we get games, but Carson got a Forklift and Semi Lego set, a basic lego set, and a lot of books!!! They got some great books from Gma Joy..."If you give a pig a party" and "If you give a moose a muffin" along with their own stuffed pig and moose! They have loved those books!!!
Including Connect4. That was SO much fun to play! I think all the adults got the most use out of that game! It was pretty tough to beat my dad, but I did a few times!
After we opened presents we got our Christmas dinner ready just in time for Matt, Natalie, and Hallie to show up. So after we ate our yummy ham dinner, we headed back downstairs for more present opening.
Obviously Hallie is too little to open her gifts, but Matt & Nat enjoyed doing that for her! She got some fun stuff!
We also did some card playing with some new cards we got from Marisa's family called Five Crowns. It is a fun game!!!
And yeah, I won!!!!!

We got the cutest picture of Kaylee, Hallie, and the new dolly!
We had such a great Christmas day with my family!!!
But the Christmas celebration didn't stop that day! We got up early the next morning and headed down to Holden to spend some time with Nick's family. We got there just in time to open some presents with the cousins, Chase, Aria, and Ian.

That was chaotic!!! 5 kids opening presents at the same time!!! Carson got a soccer ball, shotgun, and a bronco transformer from Papa Bear and Gma Karen. And Kaylee got a new apron, doll and carriage! They all got very spoiled!!!
Chase got a John Deer Tractor from his dad for Christmas, and the boys had quite a good time playing on it! Those three boys are the cutest together. Here they are with their shotguns....getting ready to go out and play!
And here they are trying to figure out how to play connect 4.
They also spent plenty of time playing with the dolls and strollers when the girls didn't have them! Later on in the day, the kids went sledding. Nick said that Carson was a champ riding the tube and sleds!!
It was a little to cold for Kaylee so she came in and visited with the rest of us while Carson & Daddy were still out sledding.
This is what Carson looked like when he came in from sledding....he was pretty cold, but loved every minute of it!We also had a great time eating tons of yummy food!! Especially the Oreos that Papa bear shared with us!We had a great time playing and visiting the rest of the day on Saturday. On Sunday we got up and got ready for church. Nick wore his new suit, and I must say it looked great on him!!!

It was a wonderful Christmas spent with our wonderful families!!! We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!! On the way home from Holden Carson told me he wanted to have Christmas again, and I had to explain to him that we could, but we had to wait another year before it would be Christmas again. He wasn't very happy to hear that he would have to wait a whole year before!!! But I told him we still have New Years Eve to celebrate, and since we are going to Idaho to my sisters house, he was pretty excited about that!!! I hope everyone else had just as much fun and had a great Christmas as well!!!

Our Christmas Eve!

Before my family came down for Christmas Eve, we took the kids to Arctic Circle for lunch. They were begging to get out of the house! So we headed out to run a few errands while we went out to lunch. We ate, dropped of donations at the DI, washed the van, and grabbed a few last minute groceries at the store. The kids had a good time playing and getting out some stored up energy on the playland at Arctic Circle.

When we got home, Kaylee took a nap while Dad and Carson went out and shoveled the skiff of snow that was on the driveway. Of course, Carson spent the whole time on his fourwheeler and ended up at the park playing on the hill with it. This kid loves his fourwheeler!

After they got in from the cold they had some hot cocoa and popcorn, and we all went downstairs and watched the movie "Up".
We finished the movie just in time for my family (Gma, Gpa, and Chris) to come down and spend Christmas with us. We had lasagna for dinner and then headed out to see some Christmas Lights in Bountiful.

There is a house in North Salt Lake that has a lot of lights that light up to music on the radio. So we found it and it was pretty neat. We didn't stay very long though....there was a movie screen of Santa in one of the rooms, and it looked SO real, and I guess it freaked Carson out, because as soon as we unbuckled him to get him a better view he started screaming "No, let's go home!" Over and over again. I think the Santa scared him a little!! So we just drove around and looked at the big houses and lights and ended up going past the temple and saw the Nativity scene they had. Carson liked that part a lot!
Once we got home, it was time to open up a present! The kids got new PJ's! So we put them on and read some books and put them to bed! Of course, not before setting out some Oreos and Milk for Santa!
It was so fun having my family there to share Christmas Eve with us!!!
After the kids were in bed, I went to work putting rolls and cinnamon rolls together for the next day so I wouldn't have to deal with it in the morning! We also stayed up talking to my mom and brother. It was a great time! We finally decided we were pretty tired and finally went to bed around 11:30, knowing that we would be lucky to hold Carson off from opening presents until 6 or 7. (We were really hoping to not get out of bed until 8!) That was our Christmas eve, which was just a fantastic as Christmas day!!!
