Outside...

We love to be outside....as long as it is somewhat good weather. Since it is supposed to rain the next few days, after putting Kaylee down for a nap this morning, Carson and I headed outside to mow the lawn. It was sunny, but still a little chilly since it was a bit windy. Halfway through mowing the lawn, this is how I found Carson....
He found his accessories all by himself! I love the gloves!!! Not quite gardening gloves, but they'll work!!! His hands must have been cold! I stopped long enough to go find the camera so I could show Nick how Carson dresses to do yard work.

After Nick got home from work, we headed to the nursery and picked out a tree. We got a River Birch. The guy at the nursery said that it is a good tree for the type of soil we have. And it wasn't too badly priced. (That is why it is so small.....I couldn't believe what a BIG tree costs!) We planted it tonight as our activity for FHE. Of course, we had to sing "Popcorn Popping" for our opening song. Good job to Nick, Carson, and Kaylee for working so hard. I mostly supervised and took pictures.

Hopefully after a few years, it will become a pretty good sized tree. It was quite hard finding a good place to plant it, since our yard is quite small. Most of our yard is on the side of our house. But Carson loved picking it out and planting it, so I am sure it will mean a lot to him as it grows!

Rain, Rain, Go Away....

On Saturday, Carson had another soccer game. It rained a little in the morning, but wasn't raining during the game, but it was still pretty wet and cold. But it didn't stop the boys from playing and having fun. We bundled Kaylee up in her new rain coat, and she enjoyed watching the game from Carson's folding chair. Isn't she cute??
Carson is the one with the white long sleeves and red shirt...he did such a good job! He got some good kicks in and even got grass stains on both of his knees!

This is what I am constantly doing...pointing...reminding which way they need to kick the ball! :)

The boys were so cute....they saw the other team line up during a kick off, so the next time they lined up themselves...all on their own. Obviously the coach is teaching his team important skills I have overlooked teaching my team. Oh, well....they will learn somehow, right?!?!

Despite the cold, Carson had a blast...red cheeks and all!! (Okay, they are a little purple since he was so cold!)

Oh, how Kaylee makes me smile. She is such an outgoing little girl. She can be very fussy and clingy when we are inside, probably because she is bored, so when we go outside, she is like a new person. She will play, climb, and just wander throughout the yard and garage. She loves this little picnic table, and I found her on sitting on it the other day...
I just thought it was so funny to see her get down from the table....

She also loves this little slide....But I thought this was the funniest picture because of the face she was pulling. "Mom...really how many pictures are you going to take...can I just go down the slide already?"

Carson and Kaylee play pretty good together, and I loved it when I saw them working together to push the wagon full of toys around the yard.

Carson is just like his dad...this morning he helped him out (more or less watched) while he edge the lawn. I thought it was very thoughtful of Nick to make sure Carson was safe.

This week Carson went to the denstist with me for a check up. He did so good!! He sat up in the chair with no hesitation and let the dentist check his teeth and even let the assistant polish his teeth. He picked the cherry flavor, which I could tell he didn't like, but he still sat through it. On the way home, we decided next time he will try the bubblegum flavor. I was so proud of him, and I think the staff was also impressed of how well he did. Carson thought it was so neat to watch 'Sponge Bob Square Pants' on the ceiling, since our Dentist has TV's on the ceiling. When he was done, he got a new tooth brush and these really fun glasses! His teeth look good and he will go back in 6 months for his next check up. Way to go bud....I love you!!!

We will miss you!

On Tuesday we had a get together at the park across the street to say goodbye to some great friends and neighbors, the Hoods. Gary & Camille must have decided they didn't want to hear or smell the wonderful oil refineries next door, because they sold their home (in record time!) and will be moving. They have two cute boys, Sam & Alex, and I know Carson will miss them tons!! We are so sad to see them go, but are excited for them to get a bigger home and bigger yard! You are a wonderful family and we are so happy that we have been able to be your neighbors!!
We have such a great neighborhood....it was so fun to get together with everyone and eat some yummy treats! Thanks again Jana, Lindsey, Kristi, and Stephanie for helping with the food!

Carson and Kaylee had a blast with the wagon! Kaylee loves to go for rides and it is nice that Carson is willing to drag her around!

Kaylee was having a blast playing with all the kids! She loves to be outside and isn't afraid to get a little dirty. She is so brave, and loves to go down slides, climb stairs, and anything her big brother does. I loved watching her play....she threw a fit when we finally had to leave the park.

(I think Kaylee brought home half of the bark in her shoes that night.....)

Spring Soccer!

Yesterday Carson had his first soccer game of the Spring Season. He did a pretty good job! He didn't score any goals, well for his team....he did however score one for the other team! Sometimes it is hard for 3 year olds to remember which goal is theirs!! :) They had oranges at half time, which they seemed to like even more than playing soccer! :)


Even Kaylee loved the oranges...she sat contently on her chair and ate one. I think more of the orange got on her WHITE shirt than in her mouth!
Again, I am coaching the team...which isn't too hard, as long as I know how to say "Don't use your hands" and "Don't push!".

Having a bouncin' good time!

Last week the kids and I headed down to Pleasant Grove to meet up with Aunt Tanya, Taylor and Chase at Kangaroo Zoo. It was horrible weather, so it was fun to let the kids play and have fun without having to be outside. It rained most of the drive, but by the time we got their it was snowing pretty good. (And Today it is Sunny and 60 degrees outside...you gotta love Utah weather!) Kaylee had a blast!!! She loves to bounce, so it wasn't to hard for her to catch on to the whole concept of Kangaroo Zoo! Here are a few pictures from that day...

We had such a fun time being with our cousins....We are glad they live close enough to us now to be able to play! I found it very amusing that Taylor is taller than Tanya!! And Taylor makes sure she knows it!
I love these next pictures....they had a baseball blow up toy, that was very popular with the kids. It would blow a ball in the air, and you can hit it with a bat. Chase and Carson had both already had turns, and were waiting in line for another turn. They must have gotten tired of waiting, since they eventually just sat down and watched everyone else use it. It was so funny!!
Can you tell they are related??? What cuties!!!
Thanks again Tanya for spending the afternoon with us!! We will need to make a habit of it!

What an inspiration...

This morning the Kids and I headed to Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, to watch my friend Jana run in the Salt Lake Half Marathon! We got up really early to make sure we didn't miss seeing her run.
My friend Lindsey and her little girl came with us to cheer Jana on!

Yeah Jana!! This is about 9 miles into the 13 mile race, and she looked amazing! There were so many runners! It was quite a sight to see.

Once we saw her run past the park, we hurried to the Gateway downtown, to watch her finish. She made it in 2 Hours, 22 Minutes. Good job!!!

You are such an inspiration to all of us!! Thanks for being such a great friend! Good Job and congratulations on finishing!!!
