Disney Cruise, Day 5

We were really excited for Thursday! We booked a Catamaran Excursion while we were in Cabo San Lucas that day. The kids had some of their own fun playing on the bunk bed before we left for the day. Who knew a bunk bed could be so entertaining!

In Cabo, they don't have a port for cruise ships, so we had to tender to the shore. We could see the boats from our room.

We needed to be at our excursion meeting point at 11:45 AM, and they started tendering at 11:15, so we made sure we were on the first boat out. We had to meet in the theater to get a ticket and then they took us right down to the boat. We were impressed with how smooth the whole process was.

We got on the boat, which was a fun little excursion on its own. The weather was HOT! And very sunny. It was perfect vacation weather!
We got to the dock and took about a 15 minute walk to get to the Dock that our boat was at. It wasn't that far, but with two small kids and really hot weather, it made for a long walk. The kids were hungry and we passed a Burger King on the way so we grabbed some chicken nuggets for them to eat before we got on the boat. We stopped in front of a big mall store to eat. Kaylee and I went into the mall to use the restroom and it was the prettiest mall I have been too. It was mostly jewelry stores and fancy purse stores. But it was pretty. Just totally different than what we saw the day before in Puerto Villarta.
We got on the boat around noon. There were about 12 other people on the boat with us, along with 2 guides. They were all very nice. Carson and Kaylee were the only kids on the boat, but they did great and they had a blast!
The beaches in Cabo are amazing and SO beautiful. We want to go back and do a beach excursion next time when we are there. The beach next to the port is Lovers Beach. It was so pretty!

The kids loved sitting on the nets on the front of the catamaran and getting splashed from the waves.
About an hour into the boat ride Kaylee started acting tired, so I took her into the galley and laid her down to rest for a bit. About that same time I started feeling a little sea sick. Luckily they had some dramamine they let me have and within 30 minutes I felt much better!
We made it to Santa Maria Bay and stopped for lunch and snorkeling. Kaylee and I didn't want to get in the water, since neither of us like salt water. But Carson and Dad got all geared up and was ready for some fun in the water.
I was so impressed to see Carson try snorkeling. It is a little tricky to breath using the tube. But he did great until he got a mouthful of water. Then he was ready to come back on the boat.
Nick brought him back to the boat then headed back out to do some more snorkeling.
They served us sandwiches and chips with salsa and guacamole. It wasn't the nicest meal, but the chips helped to settle my stomach and Kaylee liked the sandwiches.

On the way back Nick had to take a Dramamine too. That was the only time the whole week any of us felt sea sick. So note to self, small boats make me sick. :)
The kids totally soaked up the sun and enjoyed every minute of it, which made Nick and I very happy!
It was fun passing by our Ship on the way back.
We made it back on the ship around 4 so we had time to get ready for dinner. It was pirate night, which we had been excited for all week. We had dinner at Triton's. They had fun pirate bandannas for us to wear and the menu was pirate themed.
We ordered strawberry short cake for dessert. It was very pretty, but I was really hoping for a more than a little drop of whipped cream and strawberries. But I guess that is what fancy food is all about, right? During dinner they did a fun pirate parade with music and took the kids around the dining room. The song was "Yo-ho, Yo-ho, a Pirates life for me", but it was an upbeat techno dance sounding version....it was fun!
At night, they left us gold chocolate that night.
The show for that night was Disney's new movie "Real Steel". We were exhausted after dinner from being in the sun all day, so Nick and I took a nap while the kids kept themselves entertained coloring and playing in the room. We did wake up in time for the Pirate Deck Party.
We had brought some of our own pirate gear for the party...including a few pirate hats and wigs we borrowed from some friends. We also brought some fun glow sticks.
They did a super big food buffet out on the deck for the party. It looked super pretty I just had to take a picture! We were all so tired that we didn't even stay to eat it! But we did stay long enough for the fireworks. It was so cool!!!! Disney is the only cruise line that does fireworks from the ship. Amazing. It was a GOOD day!!!
